Omani low cost carrier Salam Air will resume seasonal flights between Muscat and Sarajevo this summer with a two weekly service to commence on July 2. Flights will run on Wednesdays and Sundays with the 212-seat Airbus A321neo aircraft until September 6. The carrier has said it is also looking into a number of new routes in Eastern Europe. “Salam Air is currently undertaking an economic study of twenty new tourist destinations in Europe and Eastern Europe. The objective is to attract tourists to the Sultanate of Oman and invigorate the tourism industry. This initiative aims to enhance the movement of tourists through Muscat and Salalah international airports“, the airline said.

With so many Omanis visiting Serbia, it would be logical to start Belgrade next... they don't need a visa and that's why they're coming in big numbers via FZ, TK, QR...
ReplyDeleteDon't forget Pegasus also I think they fly to Mascat, when I flew from Istanbul to Belgrade in January I was surrounded by four Omani families coming from some city close to Dubai border forgot the name.. coming to see snow for the first time and going to Zlatibor on holiday.

Deleteemirates tourists still most coomon in belgrade from middle east but had very many from saudiarabia and oman also,numbers growing big every year. i work in hotel in belgrade.
ReplyDeleteIf Oman was serious about promoting its beaches holidays in Serbia the flights from here would be full as people are always looking for something new besides Greece Turkey and Egypt. Good for Air Serbia to start so many Spain flights plus Sicily,finally some choice.Always same destinations,people are sick of same places...

DeleteOman does promote Salalah but without exception in Arab countries and nowhere in Europe .
DeleteThey for example could attract Russians who are ready to spend much more than the average tourists.
As someone already said they just do not think outside of the box .
With the beach pictures as shared in the post below,Oman could do so well,but agree with you, is weak in tourism marketing in this region.Too bad,seems Dubai with Turkey and Egypt and lately Tunisia will remain the holiday destinations of choice from South Europe.
DeleteChecked packages from Belgrade to Oman through jungletribe… evidently the company is trying to put together a package holiday and kudos to them… expensive but considering it’s without any support in Oman, not too bad… like Turkey or Egypt 5star holiday and I’m sure this could be cheaper if oman decided to get involved.
