Air Serbia has pushed back the entry into service of an Embraer E195 aircraft by four days, based on data in the Global Distribution System. The jet, which will be operated by Greece’s Marathon Airlines, was initially tentatively scheduled to commence services on Air Serbia’s behalf this Friday, however, it has now been moved to next Wednesday August 2. The 118-seat aircraft is expected to operate its first flight for the Serbian carrier between Belgrade and Hamburg, while it is due to fly to Cologne the following day. Changes remain possible.
The E195 and the A220 are the ideally sized aircraft for airlines in our region.

ReplyDeleteI still can't figure out why I gave up on the A320NEO. Look at Croatia Airlines, Bulgaria Air are taking the A220, and the Greeks are heavily converting to the full Neo carrier.
Air Serbia doesn’t need A223. They need plane with the capacity of some 120 seats, which is in the middle between ATR and A320. Such planes are E195 and A221. E195 is much cheaper and has no issues with engines.
DeleteAir Serbia does not seem to be keen on operating newest aircraft. Better value leasing older generation. They would probably lease A320diesel if it was available.
DeleteUnfotunatelly, diesel engined passenger aircraft are not available, as with all the advancement in diesel engine technology, that would create the most economic option by far, at least in the regional market (as, what many folks are unawear of, an A320 NEO burns more fuel per seat than a piston engined DC-7 or Super Constellation used to, 65 years ago).

Deletei just looked at the DC-7 specs and its a great plane. carries 105 passengers and nearly 10,000km range would be great today. could serve every Air Serbia route
they used it for BEG-LJU-BEG flight in the 19th already
