Turkish Airlines sees record Zagreb performance

Turkish Airlines handled a record 75.851 passengers during the January - May period according to the European Union’s statistical office - Eurostat. During August, the airline will utilise the A321 (including ceo and neo) on 33 flights, the A330-200 on one service, the A330-300 on three flights, the Boeing 737-800 on five operations and the B737-900 on eighteen flights.

I know a lot of people say Australians and Asians fly using Qatar or Emirates/FlyDubai to get to Croatia from Australia, this is true. However, this summer season a really popular flight that a lot of people I know, including myself have taken is Turkish Airlines/Qantas via Jakarta and Istanbul to Zagreb. It has been much cheaper for us Aussies to go with Turkish this year than the usual QR/EK/SIA

Now after pandemic finished it is clearly visible that Zagreb is missing a carrier like Emirates. People from whole Asia want to visit Croatia, but if you have to make two stops instead of pleasant transfer in Dubai (or accept low class service provided by FlyDubai) people are simply trying to find other option - Turkish airlines. Good thing is that Qatar increased their flights to 10 weekly, another nice option for long-haul flights to Zagreb.

I don’t think it will happen that soon but maybe in the future yes.

People from Asia also want to visit France, England, Germany, Spain, Italy, Greece and many other countries. Emirates is offering them a nice transfer in Dubai. There must be a reason Emirates give them so many flights to those countries but not to Zagreb.

Trade Air being one of the carriers taking care of Slovenian tour operators instead Croatian ones making clusters and using ZAG as a hub. We'd rather see our oponnents strugle than cooperate. Silly

A330 is used because of cargo. It was reported elsewhere.

Don't forget that TK is also profiting from SU's absence from ZAG. Aeroflot used to operate daily A320 flights to Zagreb with many transfers from Asia. All those passengers had to switch to a different airline or in this case TK.
