NEWS FLASH
Air Serbia has taken delivery of its first Embraer E195 jet today, which will initially be operated by Greece’s Marathon Airlines on behalf of the Serbian carrier through a wet-lease agreement. The 118-seat aircraft, featuring Air Serbia’s full livery, is thirteen years old and is expected to eventually be dry-leased by the airline. As reported by EX-YU Aviation News last week, the plane is expected to enter into commercial service tomorrow. Speaking to EX-YU Aviation News, Pawel Skuteli, Embraer’s Regional Director for Airline Marketing EMEA, said, “Air Serbia launched over twenty new routes this year. With the increased number of long-haul flights, there will be a need for more spokes and more frequencies to feed the network year-round. E-Jets are proven hub-feeders for major airlines in Europe flying complementary to narrow-bodies from main airports, on markets that require either increased frequencies or smaller capacity aircraft. The good fit of E-Jets for the region is also validated by the schedules of other European carriers. On routes from hubs like Vienna, Amsterdam, Paris, or Warsaw, E-Jets are very often the most popular type”. Marathon Airlines is already operating an E190 aircraft for Air Serbia, with another E195 likely to arrive next month. Several former Air Montenegro crew members have transferred over to Marathon Airlines to operate the aircraft on Air Serbia's behalf.
Bravo Air Serbia 🇷🇸 🇷🇸🇷🇸
ReplyDeleteand croatia airlines is geting the a220, i like that the former yugoslav countries are geting new planes
DeleteStunning aircraft and an amazing workhorse. E90/5 entry to the fleet is almost as big as entry of A330

ReplyDeleteBravo Marathon 👏
ReplyDeleteActually bravo SNS. Without their commitment to saving Jat Airways we wouldn't be here today.
DeleteCredit should be given where credit is due.
Agree +10000
DeleteI think of all ex-Communist countries, Jat was in the worst shape by the end. It was at the same point as JP just before its collapse. I don't think they would have lasted another season.
DeleteBravo JU
ReplyDeleteIt's like a new born baby this one.
ReplyDeleteEveryone loves ❤️ it.
Looks stunning!
ReplyDeleteWhat is the current Air Serbia fleet count including wet leased planes? Some 29-30 aircraft?
ReplyDeleteI think more:

Wow! Thank you
DeleteMy bad so a total of 32 aircraft, almost as many as JAT had. I believe their record was 36. Next year Air Serbia will overtake JAT Yugoslav Airlines in pretty much every way.
DeleteThat's 32 total, close to peak JAT fleet
DeleteWow, JAT was smaller than I thought.
Delete^ 10th largest airline in Europe and 31st in the world by number of passengers carried, just to put things into perspective.
DeleteNext year Air Serbia will overtake JAT in terms of planes it operates especially if they grow their A330 fleet.
DeleteAir Serbia also managed to outperform JAT in another important segment - profitability.
I am especially happy that they repaid that €20 million loan to the government because like that they proved all the haters wrong.
They have two or three B737-800?

ReplyDeleteWould be cool to see this E195 with Serbian registration and Serbian crew
ReplyDeleteSoon
DeleteThe crew is already Serbian speaking, no? They are just hired by Marathon.
DeletePositive news of the day ! I hope they will get more and more E190-95 with the JU livery, what about A320 ? Are there any news ?
ReplyDeleteNo A320s planned for this year, more are supposed to come next year. I think with the economic slowdown in the west there will be less pressure on the leasing market so JU will have an easier time finding planes.
DeleteSecond E95 will arrive in September just ahead of the winter season. Honestly, they need these planes more for winter than summer.
They need Embraers whatever, they will deploy them to CDG, ZRH and all busy routes when winter when demand is lower and to NAP, BRI, HER and other secondary destinations in summer where Airbus is too big, just like Marseille and Cologne

ReplyDeletewhat a nice plane.Very nice Air Serbia🇷🇸
Koji kvar? Za nisu u pitanju papiri iz Holandije..
DeleteDozvole???
Avion je normalno usao u saobracaj danas. Ne drami.
DeleteCisto da znamo: kvar ili papiri... smiri se
DeleteGuys I was going through Flight Radar 24 and I have to say that morning arrivals looked pretty impressive:
ReplyDelete04.15 SVO A320
05.10 ESB A319
05.15 SKG ATR
05.20 VAR ATR
05.20 SKP ATR
05.25 ATH A319
05.30 OHD ATR
05.30 OTP ATR
05.30 TIA A319
05.40 IST A319
05.45 LCA A319
05.55 AER A319
05.55 CAI A319
On top of all this dawn madness there was also an Air Cairo A320 from Hurgada at 05.30.
This is a pretty impressive list.
When are the A321's coming?
ReplyDeleteMost likely in 2024.
DeleteIt’s sad, they announced a plan for A321, they are currently standing in Slovenia and now nothing else…
DeleteAre there any pictures of the interior?
ReplyDeleteStandard grey leather seats, same as the previous owner. They did not put the slim ones as there is no need.
DeleteIf they can now only hire more workers at Belgrade.. flew from Belgrade to Chicago and flight was over 2 hours late leaving Serbia. Everyone I talked to had issues this summer with late flights.
ReplyDeleteDelays affected many airlines this summer. Arrival delays are usually much smaller than departure delays on longhaul flights. Currently flying BEG-ORD flight is only about 20 mins late.
DeleteYou are very dramatic, I took 7 flights with JU this summer and they had hardly any delay. Actually every small delay was due to airport facilities or airport ground handling company. None caused by JU.
DeleteRefer to smart traveller and reviews before using this air craft .
ReplyDeleteIt's not a delivery of you are only wet-leasing it. It simply arrived.
ReplyDeleteAgree 😂

My question is:
Do you know registration marks for all wet lease aircrafts?
