NEWS FLASH
Banja Luka Airport is working on establishing scheduled flights to four different markets. According to its General Manager, Natalija Trivić, “We are trying to secure scheduled flights to Istanbul, Athens, one to a destination in either Italy or Spain and a service to Cyprus. These are the markets we are focusing on in terms of new routes and airlines”. Banja Luka Airport has already held talks with Turkish Airlines over the potential introduction of flights from Istanbul, with negotiations to continue next month. This summer, Greece’s Aegean Airlines is operating a regular charter service from Athens to Banja Luka on behalf of local tour operators.
Maybe Aegean starts Athens-Skopje-Banja Luka this winter
ReplyDeletebut those would be SKP-BNX-SKP
DeleteManagers name is Natalija Trivić
DeleteIn addition to Istanbul and Athens, the two destinations that are in focus are Barcelona or Rome and Larnaca, with the fact that flights to Cyprus should still go as charter flights.
ReplyDeleteBarcelona is wishful thinking
Deletenot even LJU has Rome flights
DeleteIta will start once they have a220
DeleteThey already have
Deletenot the -100 variant, once they do, Ljubljana should be there, at least in summer schedule
DeleteNobody in BiH flies to Rome. But Barcelona is great destination
Deletepretty sure Kiribati is also a great destination
DeleteThere are a lot of good destinations.
DeleteLjubljana has no flights to Rome. The reason more to have it from BNX
DeleteBravo Banja Luka very nice!
ReplyDeleteMaybe seasonal flights to ATH will be real - only have touristic potencial no diaspora but Athens is good point to continue to other destinations.
Istanbul - IMO soon will se flights bookable, starting from thus winter season.
Larnaca - as ATH only touristic potential.
Italy - we needs to have flights to this country. All airports in B&H don't have flights to this country
Spain - again only touristic potential no diaspora.
there was Bergamo, it didnt work
DeleteZurich will be possible
DeleteNo so great need for Zürich because there are lcc flights from Basel and Memmingen. Suisse is not big country
DeleteIf we continue like this, Banja Luka will reach 1 million passengers, well done!
ReplyDeleteAre 600,000 passengers expected this year?
700,000!
DeleteVery very nice! As SJJ hahaha ( - tourists from the Gulf countries).
DeleteThis year around 500000
DeleteThis year 500 would be amazing, 400 is more real. SJJ still has 1M without the Gulf flights and doesn't put their eggs in one basket...
DeleteI sincerely hope that Ryanair will increase the number of flights to 10 destinations. You don't need anything else. But it is good that more and more new airlines want to come without subsidies themselves. Indeed BNX is the new TZL.
ReplyDeleteSoon TZL will be the new OMO.
Deletethey barely pay any taxes at the airport
DeleteI still remember when only JU with Atr72 landed at BNX. I won't be surprised if LH Group comes too.
ReplyDeleteThey should increase frequencies.
DeleteI still remember Austrian that had flights daily from Vienna to Banja Luka.
DeleteFor much longer JA was the sole user of BNX for ZRH. Muuuch before JU started their BEG flight.
DeleteThere is definitely potential in all destinations.
ReplyDeleteLmao, Banja Luka - Spain
ReplyDeleteYes, BCN would work.
Deletelol sure
DeleteGood luck Banja Luka. Nis has some nice routes but Banja Luka is there too.
ReplyDeleteNo offence, but Banja Luka Had no PSO flights and national carrier. So, Banja Luka is much better than Niš. We need to be realistic.
DeleteAegean will upgrade BNX to schedules seasonal flights from next summer that’s what I feel
ReplyDeleteSky express to ATH would be great !!
ReplyDeleteUK service would be great. BNX-BHX for example.
ReplyDeletelol sure
DeleteBNX to London City airport with E195 could really work once a week year around, maybe during summer twice a week. BNX needs connection with London and Paris.
Deleteahaha London City Airport
DeleteMalaga tebra!
ReplyDeletePalermo preko Imotskog!
ReplyDeleteLjubuški Široki via Imotski, Herceg Airlines
DeleteBut first do something with the facilities, because the BNX airport looks like small town bus station! Passengers have to wait outside, exposed to sun or rain (not even small canopy as basic sun/rain protection), until the gate opens. Absolutely no information on flights (departures/arrivals) available, including the terrible airport’s web site. Additionally, no info desk in the building. One must rely oh FR24, which is still unknown to most of BNX passengers, or to chase airport staff throughout the building (which is “fortunately” extremely small) for even basic info on flights. Moreover, poor wifi, not available outside of the building. Shortly, disgrace …
ReplyDeleteShortly, INI had the same problem but the new building is now almost done. Same will happen to Banja Luka. What will you compain about then? Oh yes - future Trebinje Airport! You are so lucky!
DeleteBNX is not even close to have reconstruction plans designed, not to mention having the new building up and running. You were obviously not using their services, because you would be complaining, too. Nobody is mentioning Trebinje, it is no going to happen anyhow, at least not in foreseeable future
DeleteBNX Terminal building is small but functional. WiFi is good. There are 2 WiFi networks, Mtel and Airport WiFi. Both are free. I fly once a month to Bnx. There is also info desk. And there is regular information through loudspeakers. Service is quite acceptable. I suggest to more requestable passengers to use Zagreb Airport. I hope that they will be there satisfied.
DeleteZag passengers are coming to Banja Luka now.
DeleteThe airport need a new building, that is for sure. BNX is doing a great job but it need time to make it all work.
DeletePeople from Slavonia and Zagreb use also bnx to fly to Stockholm and Berlin because there are no such routes from ZAG
DeleteOnly connection flights that are more expensive
DeleteIt's good to see that they are focusing on western countries unlike SJJ. Which makes sense, one side and the other. But seriously now, new building/ terminal needs to happen asap. BNX will reach half a million this year and for those numbers It's already too small. I've traveled last summer to Milano and we've been waiting outside on 38 degrees..
ReplyDeleteThat's right. Mme Trivić, airport manager, has already announced finalising agreements and finance on reconstruction and building new terminal.
DeleteWhat do you mean by sides? You really think SJJ wouldn't want flights to Western Europe? It will get its lowcost operator as well and reach 2M passengers. BNX has a lot of catching up to do to be able to compare to SJJ that has over a dozen carriers without the charters and is much bigger plus Sarajevo being the capital and the top tourist destination alongside Mostar.
DeleteBNX is on a good route but they need far more carriers, investments and passengers to compare with SJJ. Tuzla had its hopes too but they all went away with the BHDCA tax, we need to remember that nothing is set in stone with these airports.
Nobody here compared BNX and SJJ. Chill out
DeleteWhen we exclude from SJJ gulf tourists and international staff, and without status as a capital SJJ would be behind BNX
ReplyDeleteSpain,Italy and Cuprys will be charter flights with turistic agency
