NEWS FLASH
Dubrovnik, in partnership with the International Association of Airport Executives (IAAE), hosted the 27th Annual North America/Central Europe Airport Issues Conference this week. It was attended by airport CEOs from the US, Central and Eastern Europe, airline executives, government officials from the US, as well as airport planning, business development, marketing and international affairs professionals. The General Manager of Dubrovnik Airport, Viktor Šober, said, “We are very pleased to have hosted this event dedicated to current affairs in air travel. The gathering was very interesting and we had a variety of panels. Some that I would like to highlight include panels on seasonality and operational capacities, a topic which is important for our airport as well. We also talked about the crisis in Ukraine and the post-Covid recovery”. Dubrovnik is the only city in Croatia to boast nonstop flights to the United States with United maintaining seasonal operations from New York’s Newark Airport. Furthermore, it is the only city in the former Yugoslavia to be served by a US carrier. United has confirmed its return to Dubrovnik for a fourth consecutive season in 2024.
Bravo Hrvatska!
ReplyDeleteDubrovnik plays, what?
Delete" Dubrovnik is the only city in Croatia to boast nonstop flights to the United States with United maintaining seasonal operations from New York’s Newark Airport. Furthermore, it is the only city in the former Yugoslavia to be served by a US carrier."
ReplyDeleteNormally, the Croatian Riviera is considered a prestigious destination, even higher class considered to some parts of Greece and Turkey in Balkan levels.
LOL
DeleteObsession with higher class and prestige? Superiority complex issues?
Delete@16:35, nope. Just placing facts. After all, Game of Thrones was filmed in Dubrovnik and it is normal for it to be famous in US. As you can see the article also says: "...it is the only city in the former Yugoslavia to be served by a US carrier". Well, not even BUD, OTP or BTS have such success.
DeleteIf you haven't noticed, nobody cares about game of thrones anymore. It's largely forgotten. Gone into irrelevancy.
DeleteThat’s the reason the amount of Korean tourist significantly decreased. For the same reason we are not seeing Korean flying to ZAG. They lost momentum due to covid.
DeleteMain reason is lackluster performance of flag carrier Croatia Airlines. If they had launched service from Dubrovnik to the US, it would be unlikely to see UA or AA/DL in DBV. So it's mostly OU failure, not some " higher class and prestige" nonsense driving the UA DBV service.
DeleteNext year United will be upgrading to a B767-400 instead of the 300
ReplyDeleteThey've sent the 400 version before, nothing new and special.
DeleteIt is new, next year will be -400 variant as default
Delete767-400 wow
Deleterare bird indeed... it would be a nice sight on the Croatian sky next summer
DeleteEveryone wants to visit beautiful Hrvatska!
