NEWS FLASH
The Slovenian Ministry for Infrastructure has continued talks over the establishment of a new national carrier with interested parties. Following recent meetings with Cyprus Airways, as well as Dragon Fly Veture Holding, the Ministry met with a former Adria Airways pilot and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, who jointly presented plans for a new flag carrier. “The meeting was regarding their interest in establishing a Slovenian airline. A project for the possible establishment of an airline was presented”, the Ministry for Infrastructure said. The Ministry for Economy, Tourism and Sport also took part in the talks.
They are ramping up the conversations, my guess is that we will hear something official soon? Amelia sadly said that if they have to put in the money they won't do it - so the question now is are aircraft and crew enough for joint venture
ReplyDeleteGZS included surely means that Pececnik is included as well
ReplyDeleteOf course he is
DeleteWho is he and what does that mean for the project?
DeleteSo just talking and talking
ReplyDeleteEverything goes by plan, it was written many times that they will reveal plans for new national carrier in autumn 23.
DeleteWaiting for Fraport fanboys to finish their job with those few flights they have today and then they can start trolling how p2p is restored and Slovenia does not need national carrier at all :)
DeleteWhy don't you grant Slovenia the right of an own airline? The money Slovenia threw in the throat of foreign countries' airlines, they could have invested in an own airline long ago!
DeleteYour own airline is not a guarantee that money will not be thrown in the throat of foreign countries airlines. The best and the closest example is Croatia Airlines with its Lufthansa feeding role and with enormous losses caused by such model and covered by croatian tax payers. Just to be clear : I am not against slovenian national airline, but if it's established, you should definitely not repeat the mistake OU has been doing for more than 20 years
DeleteAgree with pozdrav's assesment, heck, why not even double down and reverse the flow of passangers between ljubljana and zagreb with more p2p destinations and skip frankfurt/münchen
DeleteWhy waste money on a national airline? Just for nationalism? The government should use just 20% of the money they would spend on establishing a national airline to attract other carriers to open markets for LJU as a long-term plan. I don't want them wasting my EU tax dollars on a project that is only based upon ego.
ReplyDeletethat went well right?
DeleteFraport PR machine starting up
DeleteI hope they will stick with initial idea of public-private partnership.
ReplyDeleteAs I understood, it’s the only way since there will be no EU approval otherwise.
DeleteOh, great, they met with a former pilot... That sure is a path to success. #sarcasmoff
ReplyDeleteWe don't need another airline run by pilots. They can fly, sure, but they sure don't know much about business.
