NEWS FLASH
Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport welcomed 744.022 passengers in October, representing an increase of 43.6% on the same month last year, and growth of 32.2% on the pre-pandemic 2019. During the January - October period, Belgrade Airport welcomed 6.694.004 travellers through its doors, up 25.9% on 2019, or an additional 1.383.441 passengers. The airport has already exceeded its best performing end-of-year result from 2019, which totalled 6.1 million travellers.
Belgrade's largest airlines by scheduled seat capacity, October 2023
Omg they might be close to 8 million
ReplyDeleteI would love to hear 8 million+ but I think it will be 7.8-7.9
DeleteGreat. Better then Thessaloniki and Sofia for sure now, next to compete are Larnaca and Heraklion, it would be interesting to see their numbers.
ReplyDelete* better than
DeleteIndeed, than. It is AI not Sapicism.
DeleteIt could seriously hit 8 million if December is super strong
ReplyDelete7,8
DeleteNovember+December should be 55% better than 2019 (to hit 8M)
DeleteFrom the other side, YU scheduled just 7% less in NOV compared to DEC. If we suppose the others scheduled similar capacity, and if we supose that they wil have 10% pax, it would be 670K pax, and it would be 57% better result than 2019, and road to 8M.
Delete* NOV compared to OCT
Delete* 10% less pax compared to OCT
DeleteWhat do you think? What figure do we expect this year and next year?
ReplyDelete2023: 7.85m
Delete2024: 9.05m
2025: 10+m wooho!
Good good 😁
DeleteImpressive that October had more passengers than June
ReplyDeleteThe demand is constantly growing
DeleteYeah, crazy growth.
Delete7,1 to 1.12. My calculations. 7,7 by the end of the year.
ReplyDeleteMan, by that logic BEG will reach 9 million in 2024? Am I wrong?
ReplyDeleteYes. Air Serbia will go over 4.5M, and it is about half BEG pax, so it should be over 9M in 2024.
Delete9 and more
DeleteFantastic result!
ReplyDeleteSo in 2024 we will have months with over one million passengers (during the summer months).
ReplyDeleteWe will also have a very busy start to the year with additional flights on Air Serbia and Wizz Air compared to last year. Now we await the next JU expansion and hope for new W6 aircraft and destinations.
new W6 jet is highly unlikely as they will have stored 45+ planes in 2024 due to the engine problems with the A321neo. They will even have reduction in the schedule and flights when compared to this summer.
DeleteWhich doesn't mean they will not grow in some key markets. At the end of the day they can cut secondary and tertiary destinations (like TZL) so as to make growth in places like BEG possible.
DeleteWizz Air in Belgrade has become quite active post-covid as they don't want to lose the race with JU.
9 million in 2024!!!!! Is it really achievable?
ReplyDeleteFo sures
DeleteIf the JU expansion from frequencies is equal to that of this year we will have good statistics in 2024.
ReplyDeleteI see we are hard at work waiting for 2024. Which new player can we expect?
ReplyDeleteSAS, Finnair, ITA Airways maybe? I would also love to see Air France again.
DeleteITA is indeed achievable. I saw that Norwegian will be flying to SOF from HEL, they have also announced many new Balkan destinations which will be announced tomorrow on the blog. So Finnair is also a possibility.
Delete21:22 yup indeed. A quiet Balkan invasion I must say. Tivat and Zadar will benefit. HEL-SOF is a bit strange route given the small diaspora in Finland as Norwegian traditionally fly from Helsinki to Burgas in summer with the airport itself close to 2 million. Norwegian are quietly restoring their strong network so Belgrade or Zagreb may be included. Although Finnair removed Zagreb according to Wiki, lets see...
DeleteAir Canada maybe?? Just kidding.
DeleteBravo BEG+
ReplyDeleteThat is, 100% we will have more than 8.5 passengers next year.
ReplyDeleteCloser to 9m bro.
Delete10 millions guys, with 20% more compared to this year, maybe even more as JU will now focus on increasing frequencies.
DeleteIt is too early for celebration, but well done!!!
ReplyDeleteOctober
ReplyDeleteBEG: 746.061
SKG: 657.990
SOF: 644.535
2023
BEG: 6.698.353
SKG: 6.122.231
SOF: 6.109.028
Anyone knows TIA numbers for October?
ReplyDeleteJanuary-September 2023 they had 5,366,476 passengers.
DeleteSo they were below 6 million for sure at the end of October. It's obvious they can't and won't reach even Sofia.
You are right, they welcomed 6 millionth passenger on 01.11
Deletehttps://seenews.com/news/tirana-airport-handles-6-mln-passengers-ytd-838727
10+ million in 2025. By 2027, 12+. Hope airport will be ready to handle 2027 and the Expo.
ReplyDeleteAmazing that wizzair with 4 planes has nearly 1/2 the passengers of Air Serbia with their fleet of 27!
ReplyDeleteQuite telling!
You do realise Wizz Air operates some flights out of Belgrade with non based aircraft (like London and Abu Dhabi) and has an all A321 high density fleet in Belgrade. Might be smart to research befote commenting.
