NEWS FLASH
Croatia Airlines has today retired one of its five Airbus A319 aircraft. The jet, registered 9A-CTI, has been out of service since the start of the 2023/24 winter season in late October and will today be returned to its owner, World Star Aviation, in the United Kingdom. Croatia Airlines sold and leased back its entire Airbus fleet this summer to monetise on the aircraft prior to their disposal and the arrival of the first Airbus A220 jets next year. 9A-CTI is bound for St. Athan Airport in South Wales today where aircraft are usually scrapped. The jet joined the airline brand new in the summer of 1999.
So they are entering summer season with one plane less? What a shi*show
ReplyDeleteThey will have Trade Air so they are more than ok
DeleteOK there´s the reason why OU will have less capacity from now on compared to last winter.
DeleteThis could have also been mentioned in the recent artice:

@15.16
Deletethat somehow makes it better? No one forced them to get rid of this aircraft. It is amazing to what extent some will go to defend the terrible politically appointed management. If you truly loved Croatia Airlines you would be demanding all of the clowns resign.
Will Trade Air wet lease continue after first A220 starts flying for OU?
DeleteDude OU is literally a profitable airline so they obviously know what they are doing
DeleteDude, no it is not. In fact, this year it is particularly bad. 15 million euro loss Q1-Q3, covered by sale of planes by the airline's own admission. Keep celebrating.
DeleteFor the sake of all tqx payers in Republic of Croatia, Croatia airline should be closed.
DeleteThere are more than enough other solutions and potential service providers.
You know replacements are needed too right?
ReplyDeleteIt is on its way to DGX right now :(
ReplyDeleteRIP. I would like a keychain of it
DeleteA questionable decision. They are already short of one aircraft today and they cancelled the evening Frankfurt-Dubrovnik flight to make room for a Genoa charter from Zagreb.
ReplyDeleteSadly the five passengers going to Frankfurt got their flight canceled 😩
Deletevery funny!
DeleteIs it possible that the plane is in fact being scrapped? Is the life span of an A319, with let's average usage, only 24 years?
ReplyDeleteNobody knows.
DeleteBravo Hrvataka
ReplyDeleteMental issues don’t discriminate
DeleteThis airline is such a joke.
