NEWS FLASH
Qatar Airways will deploy its 254-seat Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft on the Doha - Belgrade service next Monday, November 20. The jet, featuring 22 seats in business class and 232 in economy marks a notable upgrade on the standard 144-seat Airbus A320 aircraft used on the route on a daily basis. It will mark the fifth time this year the airline has deployed the Dreamliner to Belgrade. It had previously utilised the aircraft type on May 29, September 17, September 22 and September 24. Last-minute equipment changes remain possible.

They better commit this plane to BEG-DOH as I have a feeling that FZ will use one of their newly ordered B789 for BEG-DXB.

Delete787-8 from 2025 definitely
DeleteIt would be better if Emirates started flights to BEG, as they have 787 on order as well
DeleteIt is possible, as they have said that the 787s and A350s will enable them to enter in different markets where the B777 is too big for capacity or for the airport.
DeleteDon't know, somehow I think we are more likely to see a FZ widebody in Belgrade rather than the EK one. I think our market is still price sensitive though I hope I am wrong.
DeleteMeanwhile flyDubai orders B787s, wonder if they deploy this type of jet to BEG and SJJ.
ReplyDeleteI know some people who flew to FZ these days and they said that flights were packed to the last seat.
DeleteWell if FZ wants more frequencies then B737 will remain and new flights will be added, but if they prefer more capacity on a single flight then B787 will be deployed as soon as they get delivered to them.
DeleteI don't think first 789s will be deployed to Belgrade but I doubt they will wait a long time to do it. After all dispatching their brand new 789 could be a good way to keep both JU and EK away from this market.
DeleteDXB-BEG has been a really strong performer for them. I wouldn't be surprised if they upgrade 3/14 frequencies to the 789.
Can we expect Qatar in LJU?
ReplyDeleteNo
DeleteIf Qatar launches LJU will you fly with them?
DeleteNo
DeleteOf course he wont, he wants to have them at LJU for his own satisfaction that LJU is close in performance to other ex-yu airports, while not keeping in mind that the market in LJU is small and has a lot of nearby airports who offer more connections to Europe.
Delete^LOL
DeleteReally hope this becomes permanent soon. No doubt FZ will implement their new widebodies to BEG upon delivery.
ReplyDeleteThat spillover that Qatar has in Belgrade should signal to its competitors that theres still room for expansion.
ReplyDeleteNow a comeback for Etihad seems to make sense.
What is the reason for such a high demand for this one-time flight?
ReplyDeleteSveti Arandjel
DeleteSeriously.
DeleteI don't know what's the reason now but when they had those 3 widebodies in September they were packed with Chinese tour groups.
DeleteWell Chinese arrivals are booming, I am sure they are also profiting from that. I doubt Air Serbia and Hainan can handle it all. Hainan requested to operate a third weekly PEK-BEG from mid-December, let's see if it actually happens.
DeleteA bit odd it's Monday, could be some business related group. Sava Centar is opening for conferences tomorrow, who knows... It would be most Serbian thing if this is because of slava though.
DeleteFirst event at Sava Centar is the European Congress of Nutritionists (1.500 attendees). I doubt it's related to that but it could be another event that comes right after. Personally I would think it's because of a group from China.
DeleteThey should came in Dreamliner instead of A320..
ReplyDeleteThey just swapped it back to A320 again :( I am on this flight and was looking forward to normal business class instead of old recliners..
ReplyDeleteSaw that today also but now it seems like its back to 787 again. QR and last minute changes are awful
