Air Serbia to launch three weekly Mostar flights

Air Serbia will commence three weekly flights between Belgrade and Mostar this coming summer season. Services will be maintained on Mondays, Fridays and Sundays, with the Embraer E175 aircraft. Flights are initially scheduled to run seasonally from April 22 until the end of October but may be extended depending on demand. Mostar Airport will provide subsidies for the route. Flights are expected to be scheduled this month after the two sides sign the subsidy contract next week. It will mark the resumption of commercial flights between the two cities after 33 years.

      Not sure why ATR is a issue for landings and takeoffs in Mostar. But it looks like it is. Maybe pilots training?
      ATRs were issued in the 80s on this route.

      No way they'll be sending E190 to Mostar; why use it on obscure route if you can profit with it more on others? ATR is a logical choice, but maybe E75 is staying for Nis operations as well, which would be logical

      I think that E175 will stay only because of capacity shortage and in specific cases. The increased frequencies on regional routes are probably already covered by whole ATR fleet including the new 3 airplanes which will arrive soon.

      So, E175 stays. I think because of shortage of fleet or aircraft available to use, at the particular moment. Three times weekly is a surprise, and it could be downgraded to 2. E175 is faster than ATR. Hence, they will operate 4 E195, 1 E190 and 1 E175 this season?

      I think that there will be transfers for sure.
      Tourists for sure.
      But a lot of people from region of Trebinje.
      Bus service from the airport to Trebinje should be planned.

      Trebinje is almost 2 hours away from the Mostar airport. Shocking how little infrastructure there is on the ground. DBV is only 45 minutes from Trebinje so it would generally be a more logical choice, even with the border crossing. The route will have to work on the basis of local demand from Mostar (including transfers) plus financial incentives.

      Trebinje is almost 4 hours drive by bus from downtown Mostar. (Quicker by car)

      Belgrade to Mostar is 11 hours drive (entire eastern Herzegovina/Mostar served by one bus a day, 2nd bus added from Novi Sad during summer)

      Only one daily bus/line from Trebinje to Dubrovnik downtown, very poor ground transport options while DBV is about 30 km from Trebinje.

      Banja Luka to BG has a highway. Easy to get to.
      But to Mostar, its hell by car.

      BNX - BEG makes no sense if no daily connections (two daily flights, morning and evening) are available), at least twice per week, ideally Monday and Friday (as they currently fly, but with terrible timing)

    Svake godine Međugorje posjeti 1,1 milion turista iz cijelog svijeta! Ko nije bio tamo treba to vidjeti. Oni koji dolaze avionom lete za Split, Dubrovnik ili Sarajevo i voze se busom za Međugorje. Mislim da će dobar dio putnika na ovoj liniji dolaziti iz Italije, Francuske, Španije, Poljske... I ne treba zaboraviti da Bih ima dijasporu od 400,000 ljudi u SAD-u, slično toliko u Njemačkoj, nekih 130,000 u Skandinaviji. Važno je samo da se prodaju vezane karte za te destinacije.

      Cekam pocetak radova i zavrsetak Trebinjskog aerodroma. Niksic, Boka i Dubrovnik su manje od jednog casa voznje udaljeni.
      Za pocetak to je dovoljno. Trebinje je i potencijal za letove sa Niskog i Kraljevackog aerodroma. Uz Beogradski... ✈🌐🛬
