Thats under 10% growth? I expect double sigit growth at least

    3. Anonymous18:08

It would be but JU and W6 cut many frequencies in winter. Very few additions for this year. Growth will be up to 10% in summer.

    4. Anonymous18:10

But isnt the capacity still much larger compared to same period last year despite the recent cuts? Or thats what i read in the comments here but i might be wrong.

    5. Anonymous18:12

Yes JU is up by 30% so 15% at the airport level. They don't fly full so they will add extra 5-6%.

Congrats to Belgrade. As it is becoming a transfer airport, it would be nice to have the split between O&D pax, and transfer pax.

Also, Lufthansa group has a capacity of almost 1 million seats (992.311), that's quite big, and shows the importance of BEG as a market. They plan to add frequencies next year from FRA and MUC, so it will be interesting to see how they fare.

Honestly happy to see LH itself a bit down. Especially on long distance flights, their service has become insufferable -- they keep winning the race to the bottom.

So December 2022 was weaker than same month 2019, whereas in November the situation was the opposite?
I expected that full recovery was achieved in Q4 and that every month was record one.

Spectacular growth. Not just growing, but growing much faster than the Ex Yu regional competitor. Gap in passengers also increased over years:

The lower LH numbers are a result of the direct flights to ORD and reduced need to use it as a transfer airport. This will increase even further when YYZ/YWG or YUL flights start.

Hopefully JU will increase frequencies to SVO and return to MSQ. It will have a double effect, as most of those passengers will fly to TIV throughout the year, which is another return leg of full flights. Yeah, I know the EU is thumbing its nose to these two places, but flights can be re-introduced discretely. Given that there is no competition in Europe, this would be a lucrative venture.

Though neither OTP or HER are on the Balkan peninsula. Bucharest is north of Danube while Heraklion is on Crete, an island. Difference between BEG and HER is some 800.000 passengers.

Great year for Air Serbia and Wizz and good to see others have seen number going up. Over the past few years the Belgrade market has developed so much and that's amazing, but what would be the ceiling for such fast growth? 9 or 10 mil maybe? Surely at some point maintaining double digit growth becomes increasingly difficult and comes time for consolidation with lower but steady growth?
