Croatia Airlines finalises lease for final six A220s

NEWS FLASH

Croatia Airlines has concluded the lease of its final six Airbus A220 aircraft with Griffin Global Asset Management, finalising contracts for all fifteen of the incoming aircraft. Deliveries of the final six A220s will commence in 2026. “We are thrilled to be participating in the recently announced Croatia Airlines growth and fleet rollover plans, as we welcome a new customer and aircraft type to the Griffin portfolio. This six aircraft transaction demonstrates our ability to provide the most up to date and fuel-efficient aircraft at scale and is consistent with our strategy of partnering with top-tier airlines. The entire team at Griffin is looking forward to a successful long-term relationship with Croatia Airlines”, Griffin’s Senior Vice President for Marketing, Peter Bennett, said. As reported by EX-YU Aviation News last month, Croatia Airlines will lease six A220s from the Air Lease Corporation, three from Azzora and the remaining six from Griffin. The first two jets are to be delivered during the second half of this year, with all to arrive by 2027.

Just noticed that two TradeAir planes are flying for OU today. Is this a long term arrangement?

One is long term but the other one jumped in at short notice because two aircraft are out of service.

Of the 15 planes, how many -100 and how many -300?

It's not known yet. Only out of the first 6 it is known that 2 will be -100 and the rest -300.

i think there are all 100 ,300 is to large for Croatia airline needs

11:58 I found on Wikipedia that 3 A220's will be the -100 variant and the other 12 (well, obviously) will be the -300 variant.

It is literally written in the linked article in the text. Do you people read anything?

      2 are 100's, 13 are 300's

    7. Anonymous15:40

Linked article says two 127-seat A220-100s and four 149-seat A220-300s. That's only for those 6 aircraft. Wikipedia says 3x100 and 12x300 but that's from different sources.

It says that because the exact order has only been finalized for the first six planes which are arriving in 2024 and 2025. The rest that are coming in 2026 and 2027 are still under review. The wikipedia thing is just speculation which is why it has no source citing the exact order.

The first two will be delivered in the second half of the year, so likely after the brunt of the summer season.

Sorry, missed them. We still don't know what these planes are gonna look like in OU livery, right?

    3. Anonymous21:12

No don't recall any articles about the specifics of the cabin layout nor the new livery, though OU will apparently invest in better onboard services incl. Wi-Fi with internet acceess.

Again, since I obviously wasn't clear. No news about how the interior will look like, what the livery will look like. Quite odd, since their first plane will probably arrive in June?

    6. Anonymous23:16

How is it odd? New liveries are usually introduced along with the newly delivered aircraft.

      Delete
    7. Anonymous23:32

Yeah, the operators usually make a big deal of it, especially if a new type is also introduced. Some operators literally pull down the curtains on the “first” day of the operation.

    8. Anonymous23:51

I'm pretty sure we'll have some info on the interior and exterior and other things before June. At least, I hope.

They should have at least one painted in the early 90s livery.

  13. I hope beyond hope this is complemented with proper strategy...in fact any strategy would be better than the current state of affairs, for starters at least.
Whatever happens, at this point I can only be pleasantly surprised by OU, since normally I either expect a trainwreck or status quo at best.
