NEWS FLASH
Luxembourg’s national carrier Luxair does not plan to resume seasonal flights between the grand Duchy and Podgorica this coming summer. The airline maintained two weekly rotations to the Montenegrin capital last year in June, July, and August. Luxair will continue to serve the Montenegrin market through Tivat, with its seasonal flights to be restored on April 20. This coming summer, Luxair will maintain operations from Luxembourg to Ljubljana, Belgrade, Dubrovnik, Brač and Zadar, in addition to Tivat, within the former Yugoslavia.
Very rare to see Montenegro not keep winning, but I guess it happens every now and then
ReplyDeleteOther than that, I wonder if Ljubljana's Luxair flights attract any Croats or Italians from across the border
@14:51 now that Ryanair flies to Hahn, it's not necessary anymore.
DeleteHahn is almost 100km away from Luxembourg, wdym?
DeleteBrač is a surprise; especially because Split isn't served
ReplyDeleteLuxair has LuxairTour Holidays (flight+hotel service - bundle offer), very popular in Luxembourg so I guess that's how Brač works for them.
DeleteIn the meantime GP Aviation is launching PRN-LUX from the end of March. To the surprise of many here, they have just completed one year of operations from PRN to LJU, so I think the market is likely there. It would have been better if Luxair served this route though as it could serve both point to point as well as connecting passengers (to LCY, France, Spain and Portugal, for example). Oh well, it is what it is.
ReplyDeleteThey have very flexible schedule out of Ljubljana, 1-3x weekly depending on the week. And recently A319 is flying instead of 733
DeletePRN-LCY? LOL
DeleteIn fact, which country is GP Aviation from? It seems they have an AOC in Bulgaria, but is the brand actually Swiss or Kosovar?
DeleteGp-aviation.ch
DeleteSwitzerland they are owned by swiss citizen, but have bulgarian AOC to have access to EU.
GP Aviation Switzerland main company
DeleteGP Aviation ( Bulgaria) AOC
Prishtinaticket.net maybe also is their idk
GP's Nov pax number to/from LJU is 693. That is 86 pax per flight (8 flights if 1 weekly)
DeleteNot good lf

DeletePRN-LUX-LCY.
I've flown PRN-ZRH-LCY and PRN-GVA-LCY several times and loved landing so close to central London.
so much for the big MNE diaspora :D
ReplyDeleteNext is Ljubljana, when the subsidy fund will run out. So much about a few airlines that are interested in state tenders.
ReplyDeleteLol, LUX flights are profitable without the subsidies, and they only run out on 1.1.2026
Deletebut how do you know that @21.00 ?
