NEWS FLASH
airBaltic inaugurated its new year-round service between Riga and Ljubljana yesterday, marking the first time the two capitals have been linked with a scheduled air service. The carrier will maintain two weekly flights between the two cities with its 148-seat A220-300 aircraft. Thomas Ramdahl, Senior Vice President for Network Management at airBaltic said, “We are excited to enter this market, launch this new route and connect Ljubljana to the vibrant city of Riga - the home of airBaltic. We are grateful to our partners at Ljubljana Airport for their collaboration and are looking forward to offering the local travellers the opportunity to visit and experience this gem of the Baltics”. Babett Stapel, the General Manager of operator Fraport Slovenija, noted, “The new flight connection will bring Riga and Ljubljana closer together. It is a great addition to our network, and for Slovenians that wish to explore this charming capital of Latvia or take advantage of airBaltic’s network to discover destinations beyond Riga. We are also certain it will be a very convenient option for Latvians that wish to be embraced by the boutique, green, and diverse Slovenia and enjoy in its vivid capital. We are thrilled to welcome airBaltic to Ljubljana Airport”. airBaltic’s new service is subsidised by the Slovenian government as part of its drive to improve the country's air connectivity.
Positive news from Ljubljana in recent times.
ReplyDeleteAlso AirBaltic representative said that Ljubljana is 3rd most interesting destination this summer for their passengers. I don't know what exactly that means but sounds positive :D
Announce SJJ already lol
ReplyDeleteI think they will, just not this year, if Skopje and Pristina got their flights, there is no reason for Sarajevo not to, it actually has some demand from Latvia
DeleteGreat news for LJU, Sarajevo is not under a concession so their lobbying is more conference dependent. Aalborg conference should yield new routes, probably Madrid that analitičar dismissed. Not sure they had talks with airBaltic but if there is indeed demand the airline will see it through P2P and transfer
Delete@Arnel SJJ is half the size of those two airports
DeleteSJJ is half the size but has more appeal as a destination. If the tour operators can sell a destination and there are subsidies on one end, no carrier will refuse to fly
DeleteLol sure
DeleteThese are just comment warriors here. Anyone with their sane mind knows Sarajevo is a tourist destination unlike Priština or Skopje but the airport has a long road ahead to catch up passenger wise, 3-5 years probably
DeleteLf was 60-70%
ReplyDeleteIt is not bad, if it is at least 60% and more, it will be great
Deletei noticed that someone here constantly celebrates LJU's LF's of 60-70% as good
DeleteThats okay. People expect that every new route must start with 100% LF. Give some time, its a new product.
Delete70% for the first subsidised flight to a minor country in the Baltics in the middle of spring, before any holidays, is very good
DeleteThe flight was yesterday bruv
DeleteFirst of May is in half a week. The flight was yesterday
DeleteSchool holidays
DeleteNegative comments about LJU in 3.. 2.. 1..
ReplyDeleteHere is not many negative comments about LJU like on analiticar's site ;)
Deleteare there any other?
DeleteIf there is site that has more negative comments than analiticar's you should check rtv or 24ur. Only negative. If there are no new routes they complain, if there is a new route (like this one) they complain. 50 comments in total under the news and almost all of them are negative. For average slovenceljn everything is bad.
DeleteI don’t think these comments represent average Slovenian. These are mostly individuals with a very sad empty life and their only activity in life are these comments.
DeleteAt least in this Slovenia is not better then the rest of ExYu
Deletelong may continue...
ReplyDeleteBravo Fraport!
