NEWS FLASH
GP Aviation will commence a new regular charter service between Pristina and Burgas this summer. Flights will run once per week, each Tuesday, from June 18 until September 10, with the Boeing 737-400 aircraft. Tickets are currently only be available through holiday packages purchased with local travel agent Adria Tours. Further flight details can be found here.
Why are almost all Pristina ops classified as regular charters and not regular flights?
ReplyDeleteYou still can book them through GP Aviation website etc. but the flights aren't classified as regular.
You can't book Pristin-Burgas on gp aviation website.
DeleteA search on the Internet shows that this tour operator is actually Bulgarian property.
DeleteFor "regular" traffic rights, carrier needs nomination from the country what s long procedure and has certain limitations which "scheduled charters" dont.
DeleteCompany is not Bulgarian property.
What a joke. There are at least some 500 other destinations more intriguing and needed from PRN.
ReplyDeleteBourgas is at the very bottom of that list.
Duh, it's clearly for holiday packages. Settle down
DeleteYou right. Demand from PRN is high for places like JFK, Amsterdam, Barcelona... not Burgas and Varna. Odd indeed.
DeleteWhy is it odd? It's a cheap holiday destination aimed at local population.
DeleteEeee, we have a route where people go on holiday, not slave away west, we're still not happy.
Delete@14.58 every airport here has a fanboy like him ;)
DeletePRN is the only exyu airport with a link to Burgas?? now that would be unusual
People commenting here clearly have no clue about the Burgas region. Within 30km you have an abudance of either party resorts or old towns and fine sand. More than 400,000 Poles and UK visited in 2023. Burgas itself is small but has a huge sea garden and very large pedestrian area by the sea. Not to mention nearby Sveti Vlas, Nesebar, Sozopol, Primorsko, Tsarevo, Marriott hotels, etc. Sunny Beach is the typical party resort resort.
DeleteAfter visiting all the countries of the Balkans, I would define Bulgaria as a very good alternative to Greece or Turkey. I was in Sozopol, as you said - there is both history and crazy parties, that's why I share the opinion that it's like Greece. I'll close my eyes to Zakynthos and drunk Brits 😄
DeleteThere are no stone beaches in Bulgaria. Only sand. I would categorically say that it is perfect for families with children, at least in Primorsko it was like that, shallow and perfect. The stones, one of the disadvantages of Greece. Halkidiki is the best, most beaches are sandy. In addition, the Black Sea is much sweeter and does not itch from salt like the Mediterranean. But I would definitely say that Serbs go to Sunny Beach.
DeleteYeah, but the Black Sea itself cannot compare to the Ionian or Aegean.
DeleteSunny Beach is usually very touristic, but the sandy beach is enormous. Sveti Vlas is full of Russians. The Black Sea cannot be compared with Greece, but that does not mean it has stunning beaches and clean water. Google image Shkorpilovci beach :)
DeleteThen Google images of Es Trenc to see what is the real deal. People only go to Bulgaria because it's cheap.
DeleteI don't think so, Bulgaria has been developing tourism since socialism. Much of all flying today (including charters) has been around since the 1960s
Deletesorry but you cant deny that the main reason is because its cheap
DeleteCongrats for this line
DeleteRussia, Bulgaria and Romania as well as on the other side Georgia have great beaches just as beautiful as the Balkans' vaunted Greece or Turkey.
Deleteand LJU is down to 1 weekly
ReplyDelete737 and A319 are too big for LJU.
DeleteIn fact, why is their plane with a Bulgarian registration? I matalking specifically about this 737-400?
ReplyDeleteThe have bulgarian AOC for success to EU. They are registered in Zurich( main GP Aviation).

DeleteLZ-GPA real owner is Air Horizond from Malta/Spain.
DeleteIt is not. Aircraft was previously operated by Air Horizon.
DeleteAfter Greece now and Bulgaria another touristic destination from Prishtina. Now we have only Turkey....
ReplyDeletewhy is the (bulgarian) tour agency calling themselves Adria Tours and offering holidays to Greece and Bulgaria? :)
ReplyDeleteThey may be Kosovars, the one in Bulgaria may be owned by the Kosovars.
Deletethat must be a reminiscence of Adria Airways
DeleteOnce long time ago they had aviation in Slovenia. Now just Germans...Poor Presern and Janez Drnovsek.
Delete?
DeleteWhen are q1 numbers published?

DeleteIt's 839,546 passengers in Q1/24 vs 649,858 in Q1/23 or an increase of 29.2%. Very strong start, even though I personally expected that WIZZ would introduce many new destinations with visa lib and arrival of Ryanair. However, WIZZ even discontinued at least two destinations instead...
