NEWS FLASH
Air Serbia is planning to open a new dedicated Premium Lounge at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport by the end of the year. Located near gate C10, the new facility will span 630 square metres, double the size of the existing lounge, and will have the capacity to handle 160 passengers at the same time. It will feature a rectangular layout with a glass wall boasting views of the runway. The company said, “Designed with fluid forms inspired by flight paths and adorned with Air Serbia's iconic colours and symbols, the lounge will provide a comfortable and visually appealing environment. It will be divided into two main zones: a service area and a relaxation area, along with a dedicated office space for business meetings”. Commenting on the new lounge, Boško Rupić, Air Serbia’s General Manager Commercial and Strategy, said, “The opening of the new Premium Lounge is part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing passenger experience and providing top-notch comfort and service. The new, exclusive space will be designed to offer maximum comfort. Lounge guests will be able to enjoy a sophisticated ambiance and a rich selection of food and beverages, including freshly prepared local and international specialties, while our professional and courteous team, as always, will be available to passengers to provide personalised service and meet all their needs and requests”.
Love the airside views
ReplyDeleteHopefully the working hours will be 24/7
ReplyDeleteI am surprised they didnt place it near C14
DeleteThey went too hard on the flag colours/motives IMO. The red is particularly jarring, I hope the render is just oversaturated and that the actual appearance will be a bit more understated.ù
ReplyDeleteThat said, the layout looks nice overall and the lounge will be a much needed improvement.
I agree as well, the red is not very soothing. The layout looks nice, but the colors are a bit too much. In general, white or blue shades would have been much nicer since those are the colors that are pleasant for the human eye (ask psychology). The folklore part is nice and could have reds, but the other parts should have been kept more simple.
DeleteIt is a render, but yes I agree, the colors could be a lot more low-key. Flag and national colours fair enough, but this almost feels a bit forced.
DeleteBecause it is.
DeleteAh, until the employees start to move the chairs 😆
DeleteKinda reminds me of Aegean's lounge in Athens with those blue colours.
ReplyDeleteI’m not a big fan of this, looks like tryhard and almost a bit cheap. A premium lounge should be a bit more simple woth certain premium details that is welcoming and humble. This looks like kids threw in all lego pieces they could fit.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering how long it would take until the interior designers on this site would come in with their expert opinions.
DeleteYou are no longer allowed to have an opinion on this site?
DeleteIf you weren't his comment would not be here. I simply stated I am glad the interior design expert has enlightened us and given us his verdict based on three computer images :) although I notice the racist part of his comment about Eastern Europe has been removed.
DeleteSo you are saying no one should have opinion about interior design?
DeleteFirst of all, there is nothing wrong with the design, and then, it is just a render. People are just too picky. Sometimes it is better to say nothing if you dont have anything nice to say.
DeleteI also remember when people had a meltdown over the new uniforms and then they turned out to be really nice.
DeleteIt's OK to have different opinions on any topic.
DeleteHe wrote that it was cheap like cheap Eastern European countries like Romani and Bulgaria. And you want me to respect their opinion? That part of the comment was deleted.
DeleteThen the whole thread should be deleted. Happens to me all the time :)
DeleteI totally forgot the whining about the uniforms. God that was tiring.
DeleteI like it a lot.
ReplyDeleteLike it especially the views outside. Nice touch. Is the business lounge that the likes of Lufthansa use getting an upgrade as well?
ReplyDeleteLove that it will have airside views and that it's bigger and more airy then the old one. But they should have hired an interior designer :)
ReplyDeleteA premium lounge should have a more conservative look, as it will expectedly serve business travellers The colours are too bright and it looks a bit casual. Understand the point of the Serbian flag colours, but still it is a premium lounge. Put brown, beige for example.
ReplyDeleteBEG is the hub for JU and needs to be massive in order to handle all the traffic of business class guests. I hope that there are showers and sleep areas as well in this lounge. Having a great lounge, like having a great onboard product, subjectively plays into the mindset of the traveler when deciding which airline to use and which class to book. This is certainly an improvement with the views and huge windows. Nis, Kraljevo, Tivat and Podgorica should also have Air Serbia lounges; the first two because they are based in Serbia and the other two because of the sheer volume of travelers from both cities.
ReplyDeleteLet's open a lounge in Nis where they don't even offer business class
DeleteNext step - offering business class from Nis!
DeleteThere were previous reports that JU will open a lounge in the new INI terminal, though I haven't read any more concrete information in a while. If anyone has first-hand information, please share :-)
DeleteFrom what I understand, INI will open the lounge and not JU. JU doesn't offer business class from INI so there is no reason for them to have a business class lounge in Nis.
DeleteAnd Kraljevo for there economy only flights twice a week. Hell better make it big enough for 100 pax at least.
DeleteThis is a very nice addition, well done.
ReplyDeleteThat said - if LoungeKey doesn't manage to contract back access to this lounge - I guess their offering for various premium banking card owners in Serbia, working with LoungeKey - becomes fairly poor...
I was just about to ask: what is the current access status of LoungeKey members for lounges at BEG? Haven't travelled through BEG recently, so I don't know if I could get in. I have LoungeKey membership with a card from a Macedonian bank and on their website they still advertise BEG as one of the included airports.
DeleteThe current lounge is often overfilled, hence I guess JU terminated some of the agreements, which they chased and concluded aggressively during the Pandemic.
DeletePriority Pass and LoungeKey still get access to the airport-operated lounge. JU is no longer a partner (which makes sense now that business class traffic has picked up).
DeleteAirport-operated "lounge" unfortunately is a Dufry shithole with no decent offering or competition.
DeleteA while ago I wrote to Dufry to ask them something about the BEG lounge and they responded saying that they do not operate a lounge at BEG. Maybe it has been taken over by BEG?
DeleteWill they expand and remodel BEG lounge
DeleteMy guess is BEG lounge will move to current JU lounge and the existing BEG lounge will be knocked down and used as part of duty free.
DeleteIt looks like someone took a page out of Yugoslav colour design ideas 1980.
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of Yugoslavia too rather than Serbia (because of color sequence I guess).
DeleteI get the idea with colors, but those colors are so not unique that using them doesn't benefit Air Serbia's branding at all. JU has (or used to have) its own color scheme...
^ Yes their color scheme has always been navy Blue and red. Exactly like the one in the image.
DeleteRed is secondary. Navy blue and light blue primary, and they had some gray/silver. At least I think so, I'm not sure, I just never considered red as their color.
DeleteWhat will be the fate of the current Air Serbia lounge?
ReplyDeleteAccording to previous reports it is supposed to be retained, which makes sense amid the two different locations. But I do hope it gets a facelift.
DeleteWhen will work in progress start on the front of Terminal 1? The ceiling must stay high there.
ReplyDeleteVery tacky and unappealing.
ReplyDeleteVery negative people with doom-and-gloom mentality.
DeleteMirror tiles depicted in the third picture are exact match for interior accents at sketchy establishments alongside Ibarska Magistrala route. Well done!
DeletePeople who criticise lounge have simple solution. Don't use services of lounge. It's so simple!! Am glad that Air Serbia used colours of flag, what was needed to use EU flag colours??
ReplyDeleteAA and DL also use red and blue/navy colors but for subtle details and accents, not plastering furniture in plain colors.
DeleteIt screams a bit too much Apres Ski.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely more fitting for a winter sports destination..
Love seeing Djokovic on the screens :)
ReplyDeleteDecent! Some champagne (or GOOD Serbian sparkling like Deuric, Kovacevic) in the lounge wouldn't be too bad 😅
ReplyDeleteThey stopped hosting Lounge Key and Priority Pass guest in ASL lounge and directed all "traffic" to a disgrace of Airport Lounge. Filthy floors, employees that sits in the corner like in a pub and no food that is eatable...Shame.
