Their application was incomplete so it was returned and asked to be done properly. No news since then

With one of their A220 grounded I don't think they will send their application again. Stupid Slovenian politicians.

This isn't a political thing. Those funds are granted by the EU, so paperwork must be done properly for them to go through

Great results! Does anyone know how well are the AirBaltic and Norwegian routes performing?

AirBaltic is probably operating at 80-90% full every time, they even sent A319 last time, which has more capacity than the A220

      Delete
    2. Anonymous11:13

The A319 has one seat less in capacity then the A220-300. Max capacity of the A319 with six exits is 144 seats, while the A220-300 of Air Baltic has 145 seats.

YR-ABA and YR-ABB both have seating capacity of 150 pax

      Delete
    5. Anonymous11:40

The reason for A319 is not overbooking but the lack of A220s due to engine failure as well as being leased to other carriers (i.e. Swiss, Eurowings).

Combined, it would still be hard. I think with charters, it could definitely get to 350k, though. We should strive for 400k in 2025

      it will be between 340-360k

+ 400 million for the state budget - that didn't have to be paid to Adria during Covid and other crises they would inevitably get into.

Adria swalled too many funds and Fraport is doing nothing to attract carriers while having a pricing far too high for a minor airport. Both are harmful to Slovenian aviation as things stand

Real picture will be seen when Slovenes come to senses and start asking "why are we spending public money to subsidize foreign airlines to fly to LJU? This doesn't sound like free market. We have privatized the airport, let the investor do its job!"

    5. Anonymous12:22

Adria was expensive to operate but the benefit it brought was more than worth it. We were very well connected and their times were amazing. I wish someone would put focus on LJU and offer several flights to key European destinations. I miss JP!

Not really related but today I found out that even Slovenian tourist agencies are organising trips to the destinations from neighbouring airports instead if Maribor and Ljubljana. From my reasearch which I made on the websites from agencies like Palma, Sonček and Kompas, around 50% of all flights are from airports other than Lju. For example I booked a 5 day trip to Istanbul with Palma and instead of the flight from Lju we need to fly from Venice??? And before u say anything prices are pretty much the same from both airports. If only we had a national carrier…

    2. I also booked this year's holiday (Antalya) with the Sonček travel agency, which gave me a choice of flights from LJU, GRZ, VIE and MUC. I chose GRZ (parking fee included), which is about €300 (which is approx. 10% of the whole arrangement) cheaper than LJU. The trip to Graz from Ljubljana will cost me max. €60 (petrol and vignette).

  11. Anonymous10:39

Anon 04:41 This was the case even in times of Yugoslavia. So, nothing new. But agree, LJU should work on competitiveness. Before Fraport there were special weekly prices for holidaymakers.
