PHOTOS: AJet launches new Skopje service

NEWS FLASH

Low cost carrier AJet introduced flights between Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport and Skopje over the weekend, becoming the second carrier to serve the route after Pegasus Airlines. AJet, a Turkish Airlines subsidiary, will maintain four weekly flights between the two cities, on Mondays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Some of the flights over the summer will be maintained with wet-leased Boeing 737 MAX 8 and Airbus A321 aircraft operated by SmartLynx, as well as A321s by Indonesia’s BBN Airlines. AJet itself will utilise a mix of A321neos and B737-800s when maintaining the route with its own equipment. Nejat Kurt, the CEO of airport operator TAV Macedonia, said, “As an airport operator, TAV Airports is delighted to mark and celebrate the commencement of AJet’s operations between Skopje International Airport and Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport. Besides expanding Skopje Airport’s network and airline portfolio, this new travel opportunity, or this new year-round flight, also enriches our offering to travellers seeking convenient connections between Skopje and Istanbul”. The CEO of AJet, Kerem Sarp, added, “We are proud and delighted to announce the launch of our new nonstop flights from Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport to Skopje Airport. This new route not only strengthens the ties between our two countries but also supports our goal of offering more travel options to our passengers. At AJet, we remain committed to providing affordable service and continuously enhancing the travel experience for our customers”.
