SAS modifies codeshare partnerships across EX-YU

NEWS FLASH

SAS Scandinavian Airlines will shift from Star Alliance to SkyTeam in September, following an Air France - KLM's acquisition of a minority stake in the company. As of this September, SAS will add its flight numbers and designator code onto Air France’s service between Paris and Zagreb, as well as KLM’s flights between Amsterdam and the Croatian capital. Similarly it will codeshare with KLM between the Dutch carrier’s hub and Belgrade as of next month.

From September, SAS is ending its codeshare partnership with Croatia Airlines on services between Zagreb and Skopje, Sarajevo, Amsterdam, Brussels, Copenhagen, and Zurich, as well as between Split and Zurich. Furthermore, its codeshare with Austrian Airlines between Vienna and Skopje, Sarajevo, and Zagreb will be terminated, as well as between Munich and Zagreb, operated by Lufthansa.

For now, SAS will continue to maintain its codeshare on Star Alliance member LOT Polish Airlines on services between Warsaw and Belgrade, Podgorica, and Zagreb.

Termination of codeshare on ZAG-CPH did not impact OU.

How can you possibly know that before 01/09?

Because OU did not reduce a single flight to CPH.

So you expect them to reduce flights over night? Wait for summer 2025.

They are strongly active in SPU, and they serve DBV and TIV. But I miss them very much at other YU airports

They should definitely serve LJU. There was always decent demand for CPH back in the days when Adria used to operate the flight.

Well Aegean, LOT (and Turkish) are not part of the Lufti empire so the new AF/KL management at SAS would be more tolerant.

They are still Star Alliance though.

@17:01 Your comment makes no sense. Croatia Airlines is also not part of the Lufthansa empire.

Well AF/KL seem to be grouping OU with LH, OS, and LX in terms of cancelling codeshares, they are the better commercial judge.

Maybe this is a chance to start a codeshare with JU seeing as JU is closely cooperating with a lot of SkyTeam members.
