NEWS FLASH

Sabre and Air Serbia have signed an agreement establishing the software and technology provider as the carrier’s NDC (New Distribution Capability) IT provider, which will enable the airline to deliver a more personalised travel experience and unlock new revenue opportunities. As a result, Air Serbia will now have the ability to create and manage its NDC content and make it available through third-party channels as well. As a result, Air Serbia can now add new features and functionalities as their NDC strategy evolves. Additionally, Sabre boasts powerful performance with NDC air shopping response times between 0.5 and 1.5 seconds, helping to ensure a smooth shopping experience for travel agencies and travellers.

Sabre's NDC airline IT solutions are a fundamental building block of SabreMosaic, a recently announced intelligent, modular and open technology platform that is built to transform the way airlines retail. Powered by Google's artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities, SabreMosaic allows airlines to create and deliver a wider range of content in real-time, unlocking new revenue opportunities. The platform's modular and open architecture provides airlines with the flexibility to choose the specific API-based Offer and Order solutions that best suit their business needs, helping to ensure a smooth integration with their existing infrastructure.

Commenting on the agreement, Air Serbia’s CEO, Jiri Marek, said, “As we continue to embark on our journey to further modernise our retailing strategies, Air Serbia is proud to partner with Sabre. We are committed to providing real-time content and personalised experiences to our customers, and Sabre's innovative technology serves as a foundational enabler of our offer and order ecosystem. With Sabre's solutions we can extend our reach to third-party channels including travel agencies and aggregators, ensuring seamless access to our products and services. Together, we are shaping the future of travel retailing and delivering enhanced value to our passengers”. Mike Reyes, Senior Vice President, Product Management at Sabre Travel Solutions, added, "With the shift to Offers and Orders at its core, we believe SabreMosaic has the potential to bring about a far-reaching transformation in the travel industry. For innovative carriers like Air Serbia, embracing this approach is not just about staying ahead, it's about taking a big step forward for the entire industry. We're honoured to partner with such a forward-thinking airline and believe together we can revolutionise travel retailing, creating a more personalised and dynamic experience for travellers".

If you do not know what NDC fare is you should not be even posting your comment. NDC is huge for GDS bookings and most ttavel agency globally have shift it reservations to NDC as they offer better pricing . This is an excellent achievement for JU.

Why such a mean comment? By further comments, apparent is that it's not fully clear to many.
Civil aviation comprises so many facets and disciplines, and it's quite normal not to know everything and to ask questions...

    Very little.
NDC as an idea was created to bypass GDSs (Amadeus mostly) which are charging ridiculous amounts to all users. Through NDC your are not charged YR tax and content is identical to the one airlines offers on their website. So you can book online only fares that some airlines have.
However, Sabre is hardly present in Serbia and Europe in general when it comes to travel agencies. They would still be able to access it online or through an aggregator, but that is hardly ideal. NDC as a whole still causes a lot of issues to everyone involved as it is not fully developed.

To the common traveller who books everything online, this means absolutely nothing.

Incorrect info Luka. NDC I'd offered not just via airline website, all gds systems offer NDC fares as long as airline has a contract for it. Chargers are exactly the same and you do not avoid any frees via NDC bookins except fare base is much lower which is great for travel agency as they can compete with web bookings. I personally book tons of NDC bookings with condor and aircanada.

If you use BDC with the GPS, the FUC is the same as the JEB, so the MIL can go and JUP. That leaves the ATO
