PHOTOS: Air Serbia touches down in Nice

NEWS FLASH

Air Serbia inaugurated flights between Belgrade and Nice yesterday, marking its return to the French city following a five-year hiatus. The carrier will maintain two weekly flights between the two cities with the Airbus A319 aircraft. The airline’s CEO, Jiri Marek, said the company was motivated to return to Nice after Wizz Air decided to reduce its operations between the two cities from mid-September. “When another operator reduced its Thursday operations to Nice, for us it was a no-brainer. With the current network which already reaches the minimum critical mass, which is completely different from when we last operated this route, we strongly believe Nice will work. This was an opportunity we decided to take”, Mr Marek told EX-YU Aviation News recently. Commenting on the new service launch yesterday, the carrier’s General Manager for Commercial and Strategy, Boško Rupić, said, “One of the key attributes of our business is agility. We carefully monitor market developments and listen to passenger needs. When a competitor recently reduced the number of flights between Belgrade and Nice, we recognised there was significant demand and decided to resume the nonstop service between the two cities after a five-year break. By connecting the Serbian capital with Nice, we have further strengthened Air Serbia's presence in France and provided passengers with the opportunity to reach the beautiful French Riviera in just 120 minutes”. Nice becomes Air Serbia’s third destination in France, complementing Paris and Lyon.

    Great choice, Nice is lovely.

Nice Airport has identical wooden benches as Belgrade Airport. Very uncomfortable.

Always some missing colors on the engines. When are replacement parts colored and when are they left white?

They are coloured when plane goes for maintenance in the hangar. A bit of white is better than your flight being cancelled because the plane has to go into the hangar for a bit of paint. This is done everywhere. Honestly I airways find it fascinating how some people here complain about absolutely everything.
