NEWS FLASH
Low cost carrier Wizz Air inaugurated its new service between Rome Fiumicino and Sarajevo this morning, marking the resumption of flights between the two capitals after almost five years. Wizz Air will maintain the route three times per week with its 239-seat Airbus A321neo aircraft. The service is being subsidised by the local Sarajevo tourism authority. It was last served by FlyBosnia prior to the onset of the coronavirus pandemic in March 2020.
Commenting on the new route launch, Sarajevo Airport said, “We welcomed the first Wizz Air flight from Rome with great pleasure. This route opens the doors to many opportunities, allowing our citizens to visit the enchanting Italian capital throughout the year. At the same time, tourists from Rome will have the chance to explore the beauty of Sarajevo and our rich cultural heritage. Establishing yet another route from the list of strategic destinations confirms the successful collaboration between Sarajevo International Airport, the Ministry of Economy of the Sarajevo Canton, and the Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board. This partnership continues to deliver results aimed at tourism growth in Bosnia and Herzegovina and contributes to strengthening the economy of our region”.
Wizz Air’s Corporate Communications Manager, Olivia Harangozo, noted, “We are excited to enter our largest winter season to date, offering dozens of new routes for our passengers, including the completely new service from Sarajevo to Rome. Equipped with our ever-growing fleet of the most modern aircraft, we continue to invest in enhancing our operational efficiency and customer experience, while maintaining the highest sustainability standards in the industry”.
Bravo
ReplyDeleteBravo SJJ!
ReplyDeleteFrom 29th octomber they are returning from SKP too , but yesterday they cut Koln from its network saying Germany is increasing the taxes , and in December they will serve Skopje-Dortmund 7 days a week :D
ReplyDeleteYes, because CGN has significantly higher fees than DTM. Absolutely makes sense to shift the very small offering they had in CGN to their biggest German Airport in DTM then.
DeleteYee make sense. But why then they also cut Copenhagen and Stockholm from SKP , and increase Malme ? I guess this is related to their fleet issues ?
DeleteThis article is about SJJ not SKP. Also @14:40 SKP-DTM has been operating 7 times per week for two years now, its not from this December. Last December it was operated 10 times per week.
DeleteCongratulations!
ReplyDelete139 inbound/161 outbound
ReplyDeleteNot bad for a first flight
Its pretty bad actually for a LCC. The plane was almost half empty.
DeleteKoliko to putnika prima tvoj avion kada je pun?:-)
Deletemaksimum dva
Delete139 is really half empty.
DeleteThat's surely why it's sold out for the next two weeks. Inaugural flights are rarely full unless the airline invites influencers and a midweek flight isn't the best option for that.
DeleteWow amazing news for BiH. Nice that they sent NEO
ReplyDeleteThey only have NEOs in FCO.
DeleteOtherwise they would have surely send A320 with this LF.
