Hainan plans Belgrade Dreamliner flights

NEWS FLASH

Hainan Airlines will operate a number of flights on its Beijing - Belgrade service with the 292-seat Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, instead of the usual Airbus A330-300 jet. The aircraft, featuring thirty seats in business class and the remaining 292 in economy will be utilised on all services between November 16 and December 17, although changes remain possible. The A330-300 will then take over once again. Hainan Airlines will be the second carrier to use the Dreamliner aircraft on a regular basis at Belgrade Airport with China Southern Airlines maintaining operations between Guangzhou and the Serbian capital with its B787-9 jet.

Oh yes, for Chinese workers in business class. Maybe BEG should be just another Lufthansa feeding airport.

Analysis as usual :D, “chinese workers instead of nato soldiers”. Self proclaimed analysts always know why for every route!

But doesn't it have fewer seats than A333?

No, Hainan uses A333 in C32Y260 configuration on its route to BEG.

So basicly the same capacity on two types? A333 has 32J + 260Y.

    1. And the aircrafts they acquired, and about to acquire till end of december? What those aircafts are gonna be doing? I assume that they are brought to fly, and not to sit around and be a photo model, right?

There is a lot of room for utilization of the forth wide body - especially Moscow/St. Pete's. The EU will back off in the coming months over their policy vis-a-vis flights to Russia from BEG. I wouldn't be surprised if direct flights from JFK to Moscow start before flights from the EU to Moscow.

Exactly. Bejing should start immediately upon new aircraft arrival. To hit Lunar New Year madness

    4. @ anon 17:34 to use wide body aircraft regularly on the route that lasts 3h? Do you know how much money they would be losing , if the did such a stupid thing? And besides that, not so smart proposal, where is other room for utilization of those planes? You said - a lot, and you gave only one example, quite rdiculous in my opinion..Air Serbia has to come asap with solution- introduce new route by end of january, or return at least one of the aircrafts, if contract of lease allows that, which I doubt

    6. Because expanditure of fuel is much much higher for wide body aircrafts , epcecially on short flights, so the cost is much higher, not even mentioning all taxes and frees that are much higher..That's why there is no airline in the world that uses wide body on short flights, and I'm sure that on many routes they could fill up 10 planes a day..For example why they wouldn't drop a few wide bodies during the day on a route Rome-Paris, instead of sending narrow bodies every half an hour? Because that is a big loss of money..

    9. Fuel consumption on 3 h flight with A330-200 is around 18000L, and A320 is around 7500L. First has around 258-260 seats, , and A320 flying for Air Serbia ( GetJet) have 180 ( actually 176, `cause 4 middle seats are not occupied because of business class)....

The lessors may restrict them on sending planes to Russia depending on the contract. We will see.

I heard that either one or both A330 that are coming now have the permit to fly to Russia. Air Serbia wants to do it so obviously demand is there and it makes economic sense. I guess Moscow is a route where they can fill those business class seats.

I actually wonder if there is cargo demand on this route.

I think JU should add more flights to Russia now that Trump won. I think the situation will start changing regarding the war and sactions.

This is not good for the Chinese airbus pilots. Maybe they need to go on vacation 🤔
