Iberia to boost Ljubljana capacity

NEWS FLASH

Spanish national carrier Iberia will resume its seasonal summer flights between Madrid and Ljubljana next year. Although the airline plans to run the same number of operations maintained during the 2024 summer season, it will utilise its 168-seat Airbus A320 aircraft on the route instead of the 100-seat CRJ1000 jet used over the previous summer. Iberia will maintain two weekly rotations between the two capitals next year, on Wednesdays and Sundays, from July 27 until September 7. Changes remain possible. Tickets are now available for purchase through the airline’s website.

Still a 235% capacity increase. By this trend we'll have around 33 rotations next summer on the A320

If tickets sell good they will increase it for sure. Bonus is they announced it much earlier than last year.

the increase is a 68% increase; where are you getting a 235% increase?

100 to 168 in seats and 10 to 14 in rotations

      (168*14*2)/(10*100*2)=2.35, which is 235%

Its 12 rotations . Between 27 of July and 7 September is 6 weeks, not 7.

Even if ratio was 2.35 it would not be 235% but only 135%.

      Iberia A320 has 180 seats, not 168.

Could be a placeholder for the next tender, they can't apply for those 14 rotations, but they can apply for additional ones

Is there perhaps a mistake in the article? It says from June 27 until September 7. Shouldn't it be from July 27 until September 7, if it's 14 rotations?

Wondering how these flights are promoted in Slovenia or in general foreign airlines who do not have a presence like TK or LX,LH,AF,JU on the Slovenian market.
Fly Dubai, Iberia, Air Baltic, Luxair, BA, Finnair, Wizz: Do they promote their flights in Slovenia with ads in the newspapers or marketing boards next to the streets in Ljubljana?

I've also seen some ads on Ljubljana buses and jumbo posters. But they were mainly promoting Fraport, not specific airlines.

Where is the dežurni expert on how A320 is too big? He should call Iberia and tell them.
