Eurowings ends one of two Belgrade routes

NEWS FLASH

Low cost carrier Eurowings has discontinued operations on its seasonal service between Stuttgart and Belgrade. The flights, which were maintained three times per week between late May and October, will not be restored in 2025. The carrier will continue to operate seasonal services between Dusseldorf and the Serbian capital. Air Serbia maintains year-round operations from Belgrade to Stuttgart, which will run four times per week next summer. Flights between the two cities were maintained by Eurowings and its predecessor Germanwings since 2007, with exception to 2019 and 2020.

2025 doesn't look very bright for BEG so far.

Are they going to replace Eurowing frequencies on the route?

Not unless they decide to introduce more than one E-jet to the fleet.

It's probably too early to make this decision. They might decide in July to wet lease something again.

W6 FKB and JU have taken toll on yeilds of a EW STR route

Or they may just upgrade the equipment to A319/320 and increase the capacity by keeping the frequencies and the schedule. Why we have to go with negativity first?! What's wrong with us, people?!

Now is perfect moment for Ryan Air.

Noooooo! That would be bad for ASL.

Ryanair is doing wonders for boosting traffic of flag carriers at their hubs in the region, so once more we have friendly advice from those who would pay a pretty penny to see the same happen to Air Serbia at Belgrade. Nice try though.

So what if it would be bad for ASL? It would be good for aviation in Serbia overall

It looks like Air Serbia just want the whole market, but also acts very conservative in terms of new routes: only leisure or China (big biznis). No whole year Antalya, no Baku/Tbilisi. And they only push out the players who can be a development for the whole market. Like Eurowings for ex. And we even not talking about Ryan or EasyJet.

Excuse me did Eurowings put up any fight? They fly to Belgrade seasonally for goodness sake.

Like Baku and Tbilisi are amazing profitability and passanger number boosters. Pls. They better add one more flight to Tivat and it will bring more passangers and money.

That's typical Jat Airways mentality. Had they listened to you then they probably would not have flown to places like KRR, KRK, OPO etc.

Eurowings is virtually irrelevant in BEG and has no chance next to JU, W6 and LH. German market is the biggest in BEG and has tons of direct routes, so naturally the saturation on the market will always hit the weakest carriers first.

LOL indeed, IATA code YU is for EuroAtlantic Airways and AS is for Alaska Airlines. Explains the level of knowledge in that comment.

What a failure of a low cost airline, don't know how they're doing elsewhere but in Belgrade they've been abysmal considering that Germany's one of the biggest markets for it

Jel Aerodrom NT treba da se uključi u dovođenje operatera i otvaranje linija ka/iz BG? Zasto citav rast baziramo na aktivnostima i rastu AS i Wizz?
