Fourteen EX-YU flights to mark New Year while airborne

NEWS FLASH

Passengers on fourteen flights either departing or arriving at one of the former Yugoslav markets will reign in the New Year while airborne. Although many airlines used to reschedule or cancel flights that would coincide with New Year celebrations, the practice is becoming less common. However, several services in the region have been rescheduled or cancelled to avoid the clash. Flydubai will operate one of its two daily flights from Belgrade earlier in the day in order to avoid flying throughout the night into the early morning on January 1. Last year, the airline did not schedule the second daily flight on December 31. Furthermore, the Lufthansa Group will not be operating its evening services to several EX-YU capitals. On the other hand, Croatia Airlines will complete all of its flights by 17:00 CET, with exception to the Frankfurt - Zagreb service, which is scheduled to arrive at 19:20. Passengers from Podgorica to Istanbul on Turkish Airlines are due to land just minutes before the end of 2024.

A handful of flights will run throughout midnight. They include the following:

Departing Belgrade Airport

· Hainan Airlines to Beijing
· Air Serbia to St. Petersburg
· Air Serbia to Moscow
· Wizz Air to London Luton
· Turkish Airlines to Istanbul

Arriving at Belgrade Airport

· Wizz Air from Gothenburg

Due to differing time zones, EX-YU Aviation News will publish news articles tomorrow at a slightly earlier time of 07:00 CET.
