Ryanair discontinues another Podgorica route

NEWS FLASH

Ryanair has discontinued ticket sales for its seasonal service between Manchester and Podgorica for the upcoming summer. Passengers who previously purchased tickets on the route have been receiving notification from the airline that their flights have been cancelled for commercial reasons. Services were scheduled to run twice per week. Previously, the carrier closed ticket sales on its flights between Podgorica and Zagreb and has reduced planned operations between the Montenegrin capital and London Stansted next summer. Changes remain possible.

That's Ryanair for you. When the subsidies end, so do their flights.

That's business for you. FR decides to walk away from an endeavor which is not profitable enough. Our local struggling airlines would be wise to learn something from them.

That's Podgorica for you. One of the poorest countries in Europe with a small diaspora. If they want Ryanair to fly there, they have to charge less money that other more profitable airports charge.

Montenegro needs Ryanair more than FR needs MNE. MNE decides to raise airport fees unnecessarily, FR deploys its assets elsewhere to generate higher profits. Simple as.

I posted a comment about my flight from Manchester being cancelled on another article here, the thing is, people have mentioned subsidies, I really can't believe it wasn't a profitable route, especially in the main 4 months that people from the UK holiday.(June/July/August/September)
The load factors must've been sky high, never a quiet flight and never cheap prices, I think the cheapest I paid in the above months was around £120 and the most expensive around £350, without bags or seats, far from cheap flying with Ryanair.
