Slovenia’s Amelia launches VIP subsidiary with A319

NEWS FLASH

Slovenian-registered carrier Amelia International, which is part of the Regourd Aviation Group, has announced the launch of its new subsidiary - Amelia Executive - with an Airbus A319 aircraft equipped with sixty business class seats and an additional fuel tank for long-haul flights. The carrier is delivering on a promise made last year to launch the VIP airline. “Available for charters, the aircraft is designed for maximum performance and luxury, accommodating up to sixty passengers, with a single business class configuration. It boasts a nonstop range of 4.000 nautical miles (7.400 kilometres), making it ideal for popular intercontinental routes such as Paris to Dubai, London to New York or Singapore to Doha”, Amelia International said. Previously, the carrier expressed interest in potentially operating charters between Ljubljana and the United States with the VIP-configured aircraft. Amelia Executive has started taking bookings for 2025.

That's an interesting development. Doubt they'll operate out of LJU, but still a very promising concept

Who could be customers of such a product?

I would much rather just have a business class seat on a regular Air France, British Airways, Qatar Airways or Singapore Airlines plane.

And high-paying, comfort-enjoying customers don't normally travel in groups of sixty.

Well companies like La Compagnie and BeOnd exist, and they serve pretty dense routes like Paris-NY and Dubai-Maldives. There's clearly demand

If a sports team (football, basketball, etc) is heading to a game or tournament then they could opt for this rather than a larger capacity aircraft that is all-economy but a lot of the seats end up empty.

I would say they are mostly aiming at KlasJet and their market shae since KlasJet has been put on the sh*tlist for not paying their suppliers and are currently mostly limited to flights outside of EU.
