Zagreb Airport handles four-millionth passenger

NEWS FLASH

Zagreb Airport handled its record four-millionth passenger of the year yesterday, December 1. It marks the first time the airport has achieved the milestone in a single year. The passenger in question, Ana Vučić, travelled on a Croatia Airlines flight between Zagreb and Skopje. The airport has experienced robust growth throughout the year, driven largely by Ryanair's expanding operations and the introduction of three new seasonal routes by Croatia Airlines. Additionally, South Korea's T’Way Air joined as a new carrier, further boosting traffic. A notable aspect of this year's performance has been the improved traffic distribution during traditionally quieter months, with October passenger numbers reaching 95% of August’s peak levels. The airport projects handling 4.3 million passengers in 2024.

Commenting on the result, Nicolas Duthilleul, Zagreb Airport's Chief Operating Officer and Board Member, said, “I congratulate the lucky passenger and extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who chose Zagreb Airport this year. I would like to thank Croatia Airlines for joining us in this celebration. Achieving the four-million passenger mark for the first time in Zagreb is a momentous success for our airport and a testament to the thriving aviation and tourism sectors in Croatia”. Marija Pavić, Croatia Airlines’ Head of Sales, added, "We sincerely congratulate our colleagues and partners at Zagreb Airport on achieving record passenger traffic in their history. We are delighted that the 4-millionth passenger was recorded on one of our flights during a year in which we significantly expanded our international network from Zagreb. This included the introduction of new seasonal routes to Berlin, Stockholm, and Tirana, connecting Zagreb Airport with a total of 18 international destinations during the summer season. Croatia Airlines will continue to actively contribute to Zagreb Airport's traffic growth by launching new routes in the coming years, in line with the delivery schedule of our new Airbus A220 aircraft”.

Congratulations Zagreb! Well deserved. Bringing FR was probably one of the smartest decisions the management made.

The statement from the OU lady are so out of touch. She says 3 new seasonal routes a "significant expansion" and then goes to to say how they serve 18 routes in summer from ZAG. I would be embarrassed by that.

If it was up to them FR would have never touched down on ZAG.

OU is genuinely embarrassing. I think they are so clueless that they do not even get how bad they sound.

This mean growth for November, must have been around the 15% mark..... Solid growth continues.

As expected from data we had on seats available... 4.8 million next year, could do 5.0 million but that'll be a stretch.
