NEWS FLASH
Air Canada has begun codesharing on Edelweiss Air’s service between Zurich and Skopje. The Canadian flag carrier has placed its “AC” designator code and flight numbers onto Edelweiss’ Friday service between the two cities (AC6010/6011). Air Canada began codesharing on various Edelweiss Air routes last February but it was not until this January that it added its flight numbers onto the Skopje service.
Happy to see positive news for Skopje every day and its improving ! Keep the good job!
ReplyDeleteWhat does codeshare mean, can anyone explain, please ?
ReplyDeleteIt means that the Edelweiss flight will also have an Air Canada flight number on it, and that Air Canada will be able to sell tickets to SKP via ZRH as a result.
DeleteWith no need to obtain ticket while doing transfer at Zurich , simply you will get all tickets at beggining point Skopje...
DeleteFrom passenger perspective it means, Air Canada Holds the ticket for the route and you deal only with Air Canada for any issues(delays, canceletaions, luggage etc) and follow their policies, you get boarding passes at the begining of the flight for the entire roure. You can go on Air canada web site & buy the ticket.
ReplyDeleteYou get maple syrup in Toronto if you pay extra 🤣
Good news, but also smart move for them. Second largest Macedonian city is Toronto....it is estimated that at least 200000 Macedonians live in greater Toronto area.
ReplyDeleteLOL, very interesting that every city holds quater/half milion Macedonians, but when it comes to any Macedonian event, you get only few thousand or less. Same with Australia, Canada, Usa. Do you count 4th generation children that don't have Any macedonian documents/citizenship? That Never been to Macedonia and besides that they know that their Great Granparrents are from Macedonia they don't know anything else abou Macedonia.
DeleteSame case with Sebians, Boanians, Albanians, Kosovars etc.
If there was that many Macedonians in any city that people are saying we will have 1-3 weekly flights from anywhere to Skopje. Same with Podgorica, Sarajevo, Tirana Etc.
One A330 hold 250-300 pax so what is 250 from 200,000, you should be able to have direct flight and fill those palnes in a sec 😃
Judging by peoples comments about MKD diaspora on here SKP should really have multiple weekly flights to a few Canadian cities, a few US destinations and also daily EK flights to DXB, QR to DOH and EY to AUH to tap into all this potential VFR.
DeleteWhen Will they announe new routes to Ohrid and skopje ?
ReplyDeleteAir Canada?
DeleteThey are delayed because demand is so big that Air Canada, Transat and Westjet are fighting now which one of them will open Skopje and Ohrid, and would the flights be from Toronto and Vancouver only or include Montreal, Calgary and Halifax as well. Some rumours are going on Ottawa, Hamilton and Edmonton might get their share as well
