Skopje Airport registers record passenger performance

NEWS FLASH

Skopje Airport welcomed 2.954.568 travellers through its doors in 2024, marking its best passenger performance on record. The figure grew by 2.5% year-on-year, or by 71.094 travellers During 2024, Skopje Airport welcomed airBaltic as a new customer but was faced with a significant reduction in capacity by Wizz Air, which continues to struggle with fleet issues. This led to a decline in passenger figures following a record first quarter. Looking ahead, Transavia has confirmed the launch of flights between Amsterdam and Skopje for 2025, while Wizz Air has scheduled three new routes.

Without W6 flights SKP would have 1.3 million passengers. Not sure if this can be count good.

I am saying that despite all the cuts from W6 we are still with solid numbers as I write not perfect but its good , could be even worse right ? W6 is important player in Macedonia and I hope we will see all its potential this and next year.

Great too see SKP almost at 3m hopefully 2025 brings new Airlines and more routes and better connectivity. Hopefully the dependence on wizz is reduced but also the engine issue with wizz planes hurry up and return all the frequency and routes they have reduced.

I am glad to see Transavia is coming to serve AMS ,also waiting for Easyjet to confirm Orly , plus Dubai , that would be amazing routes from SKP, and of course if we see Doha it would be more then perfect. Also waiting for the new tender results. Serving almost 3m passengers is good if we know all the cuts frok Wizz caused by the engine issues , finger crossed this year to be more succesfull, more routes and new airlines to come and see our real potential!!!

Considering what's happening, it's amazing. Just shows how much more potential there is in this airport, once W6 is back, it's gonna be crazy.

I cannot express my surprise by the December pax figures. Last year the airport was almost closed from 24.12 till end of the year which was not the case this year. Still the fugures are down by 8.4 percent.

16:25 typical pessimist... People been complaining all year and it was the best year ever. Imagine in a normal year.

With all the cuts from W6 it is still ok , 1.8m passengers in a country of just 2m is good , imagine what will be when W6 back to normal? And thats numbers of 1.8 are still ok because even in the best years of W6 in SKP I am not sure if they handle this numbers ? :D
