NEWS FLASH
Wizz Air is discontinuing its seasonal flights from both Vienna and Rome Fiumicino to Split. Last year, services from the Austrian capital were maintained three times per week, from June 17 until September 27, while operations from Rome ran four weekly from July 1 until August 30. Wizz Air will continue to maintain flights from Gdansk, Krakow, Katowice, London Luton, Lublin, Vilnius, Warsaw and Wroclaw to Croatia’s second largest city over the summer months. Split will continue to be linked to Vienna through Austrian Airlines, Croatia Airlines and Ryanair, while services to Rome Fiumicino will continue to run through Croatia Airlines, Ryanair and Vueling.
There was a lot of competition on those routes so it makes sense. Better to fly where there's more than 30€/ticket to be made
ReplyDelete30 euros is only slightly lower than the average price Wizz charges on flights with block time of under 90 minutes (like these two routes were) so your comment makes no sense at all.
DeleteThere is STILL a lot of competition- OS runs three daily - OU Daily and FR 4 times a week. There was no room for Wizz.
DeleteRyanair keeps winning
ReplyDeleteWe will see how much Ryanair is going to be wining in the coming years. Wizz Air is slowly returning to the markets they closed last year, and they are coming stronger then ever. Recently they reopened Chisinau base and just today they announced five new routes from Sibiu some of which were served before the reductions. This means that they are returning the second jet in Sibiu. In TIA they plan to have 16 planes this summer and 19 in OTP. Dont forget their order of 300+ jets.
DeleteWell, they're clearly winning in Hrvatska and there are no signs of stopping. Eastern Europe has always been their playground so that's not much of a surprise that they're winning in places like Chisinau and Sibiu
DeleteYou clearly didnt understand my comment. I didnt mention Sibiu and Chisinau because they are winning there but because that means that soon they will return even more routes. Second aircraft will be returned in Varna this summer as well, they will grow their FCO and MXP base by one aircraft as well, VCE will again have two A21N and so on.
DeleteNo, I clearly understand it. The thing is that it has nothing to do with Hrvatska, which is what I was refering to when I made my original comment. Also you lied about TIA having 16 Wizz planes so I'm not exactly sure what to believe with your comments.
DeleteI used to be a Wizzair fanboy but now I would never book the ticket, especially for family trips because I‘m scared flight would be canceled and I would need to buy 3 tickets at expensive price just before vacation.
DeleteRyan air keeps winning and everybody, including the passengers, keep losing.
