NEWS FLASH
Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport is in the process of installing self check-in kiosks to streamline passenger flow and reduce wait times at the check-in counters. Ten kiosks are currently being installed across from where Air Serbia’s new premium check-in area will be located. Prior to the airport’s redevelopment, it boasted both dedicated Air Serbia check-in kiosks, as well as limited self-check-in capabilities for several other airlines.

DeleteGreat job VINCI!
ReplyDeleteGreat addition!! But, unfortunately, many old check in counters stay unused. Hope we see new carriers to fill them!
ReplyDeleteAttracting new carriers and increased destinations and frequencies from existing carriers should be the no. 1 job of the airport management.
DeleteUnfortunately they don't do it very well.
True. I wonder what was the reason for Transavia delay, it would hardly be low demand. Their prices are great
DeleteIt's low season, pretty sure most of these are in use during summer.
DeleteOther airports in southern Europe are booming. Ours is growing by low margins because it si dependent on two airlines who have issues of their own.
DeleteUnfortunately it is not even growing. Hope February numbers get better
DeleteBack in 2023 airport grew much faster than most other airports. Combined 2023 and 2024 growth is still above most in the region.
DeleteSrećna nova 2009!

DeleteBe positive, we are only 15 years behind western Europe.
DeleteThat is progress!
If you bothered to read the text, you would see that self check in existed before and was removed during the reconstruction. But this also shows you never flew from BEG.

DeleteIn any case, even if they don't exist I don't see a big loss. Most of the people do online check in, if they have luggage they have to wait anyway, so this is just for the ones who want to have their boarding passes printed out.
Anyway, I have one question. LCC charge for the airport check in. Do they charge for self check ins as well? Or they don't offer it at all?
Hahah those barely worked before reconstruction and there were like 5 of them.
DeleteWhy would you even need this in today's age? Just check-in through the app use mobile boarding pass
ReplyDeleteI have used it many times to check in and then go straight to baggage drop-off if there is a queue at a regular check in desk.
DeleteBut you can check in at home and then go to the drop off without even touching the self check in kiosk

DeleteEven that is too complicated for some people.
Why do you care if someone wants to use the check-in, it's their God given right.
DeleteBack to the future... part X
ReplyDeleteWell done. Still missing some plants, work of arts and Cyrillic signs inside the airport. Otherwise great!

DeleteBEG must be the only airport in Europe who does not have signage in the language the country uses...
Signage is both in Sebian and English. Too bad you never visited Belgrade Airport
DeleteCheck-in in the mobile application of the specific air company is the most convenient way if you have only one bag.
ReplyDeleteThere are still passengers without smartphones, travellers without internet access, cases where they have last minute changes or upgrades etc. All 3 largest EU LCCs still have check-in desks. Kiosks are not mandatory but are preferred option for some passengers.
