NEWS FLASH
Skopje Airport handled 208.628 passengers in January, representing a decrease of 9.2% on the same month last year. The airport welcomed 21.189 fewer travellers than in January 2024. The number of aircraft movements decreased 7.5%. The reduced figures have been primarily fuelled by Wizz Air, which removed 56.266 seats from the market, or 27.9% of its capacity during the month.
Skopje’s largest airlines by scheduled seat capacity, January 2025
Some of those numbers are also affected by the fog days and alot of cancelled flights and diverted to other airports. The positive sign is now from March the increase is back!!
ReplyDeleteLast year there were more diversions than this year. Still only 9% decline is good as last year during that period Wizz Air had 6 planes at Skopje and now only four.
DeleteBut you guys said Skopje will return to growth from January this year, what happened here?
Delete14:15 I agree with that , still more then 200k in a single month January is ok numbers not perfect but good.
Delete15:42 nobody said January , the growth started now in March , that was also on an article here couple months behind
What happened with the flights to Dubai which were suppose to start this month...
ReplyDeleteIt was never announced for "this month". It was just said that they applied for the tender and will be approved finances to launch flights. That's it. No need to make things up.
Deletehttps://www.facebook.com/reel/1917965312044107 according to the minister it was suppose to start twice weekly :)
DeleteFor now there is nothing that the route will be restored. But as I know there is still open tender and airlines can apply.
DeleteIt was confirmed that Flydubai applied and was approved funds.
DeleteThey said exact date 30th of March ...
DeleteIt was confirmed and accepted that they apply on the tender , but possibly they change their mind and did not continue with the process.
DeleteThe problem is that travelers from Kosovo have decreased recently, while at the same time the passengers go to Pristina's advantage.
ReplyDeleteNo the real problem is W6 in this moment. Kosovo numbers that you are mentioned are not crutial in this case.

Delete208k for January is good , if we know that this is the slowest month , but W6 cuttings are still high in SKP as we expected. But positive sign is now March started with growing and will keep like that during all year :))
ReplyDeleteJanuary is not the slowest month of the year.
DeleteFebruary is the slowest month of the year. And probably a bit November.
DeleteEspecially for SKP January trend is with alot of cancelled and diverted flights because of the fog. But guess what , SKP will have more pax in February then January even you saying its the slowest month in the year :)
DeleteLol
Delete@17.00 SKP had less than 200k in Feb, but no minus
DeletePegasus now clear second
