Air Serbia enters the summer season, which begins today and runs until October 25, with a total of 30.514 scheduled flights, representing an increase of 5.8% on the summer of 2024. Capacity will grow by 4% to 3.69 million seats. During the summer, Air Serbia will launch four new routes, including Florence, Mykonos, Alghero and Tbilisi. Furthermore, services to Shanghai, Guangzhou and Nice, which did not operate for part or all of last summer are featured in this year’s schedule. Further changes are possible. As EX-YU Aviation News learns, the airline is expected to make a decision on a potential increase in its peak summer long-haul operations next month.
This summer, Air Serbia will maintain a record ten destinations to Italy, with a peak of 39 weekly flights to the country. It also expands its scheduled operations in Greece to seven cities and 42 weekly flights, while the airline enters the Georgian market for the first time. The carrier will serve four long-haul destinations with frequencies to New York increased during the shoulder seasons in spring and autumn. In addition to scheduled services, Air Serbia will also maintain regular charters to a number of destinations. They include Antalya, Bodrum, Cephalonia, Dalaman, El Dabaa, Hurghada, Kavala, Marsa Matrouh, Monastir, Preveza, Skiathos, Sharm El Sheikh and Zakynthos.
Air Serbia will boast a total of 83 cities in its network. Please note that the frequencies listed below are preliminary and based on current availability in the Global Distribution System (GDS). They are subject to change. Furthermore, the tables below display the peak weekly frequency on each route per month during the course of the summer season. You can also review the summer season network that will be operated by Croatia Airlines here, as well as the one planned by Air Montenegro here.
Departing Belgrade
Departing Niš
Very decent!
ReplyDeleteWhat about from Belgrade to Miami?
DeleteIn regards to VIE growth is it because of demand or to better compete against OS?
ReplyDeleteDefinitely, on certain days some flights even got upgraded to E95.
DeleteNice to see JFK up in pre/post season.
ReplyDeleteIdemo dalje...
ReplyDeleteIdemo 🫡
DeleteWow BRU finally grew 😀
ReplyDeleteMaybe it will be Banja Luka's turn next year...
DeleteSeems there isn't too much demand for BRU. Jat Airways flew it seasonally and in triangle with AMS.
DeleteBRU is still below in comparison with pre Covid times when they had 4 weekly freq. They lost some transfer pax on the route, predominantly the pax from the Middle East.
DeleteImpressive
ReplyDeleteNow we're talking
ReplyDelete"As EX-YU Aviation News learns, the airline is expected to make a decision on a potential increase in its peak summer long-haul operations next month."
Well, they have the planes for it.
DeleteWow major cuts to BUD. What's going on there guys?
ReplyDelete"Major"
DeleteMaybe they can make more money by flying more to Vienna so they dedicated more flights there.
DeleteBUD is a car distance city. Four persons r/t by car costs as a plane ticket.
DeleteThis is the realistic number of frequencies to BUD, last year many flights in the height of season were half empty. With 13x weekly you can still transfer to everywhere and tourists from both cities have convenient times to travel.
DeleteVery nice network!! Keep going JU!!
DeleteTakođe i OTP vidim često ide E jet.
DeleteМислим да подневни лет скоро увек иде са Е90
DeleteCan someone explain what kind of passengers we have on flights to Prague, Budapest, Krakow? I'm just curious (not counting transfers)?
ReplyDeleteTourists? But also private sector. There are business relation between small-medium enterprises in Serbia and Hungary/Poland. Polish chamber of commerce is very good in promoting their enterprises Europe wide.
DeleteI like to fly to BUD as a tourist, especially when I go alone. I don't even think about driving there and playing lottery with border crossings,
DeletePrague diaspora too. Huge ex-Yu community over there
DeleteWhat's the LF for Zagreb? Seems like a thought out reduction
ReplyDeletehttps://www.exyuaviation.com/2025/03/zagrebs-ex-yu-routes-grow-but-most.html
Delete5 flights to Madrid, way to go!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see MAD gone up to 5 pw
ReplyDeleteDont understand the decrease to Paris, with the majority of the flights packed and yields must be very very high given the ticket prices.
ReplyDeleteHopefully it gets a boost soon!
Was probably increased last year due to Olympics.
DeleteProblem is the fleet shortage, they don't have another plane to fly to Paris at 10.20.
DeleteNot only CDG but decrease to AMS too. AF (Transavia)-KLM are strong players to deal with.
DeleteTrue, those 2 weekly less flights should be compensated by Transavia.
DeleteKL boosted BEG quite a bit this summer, they are putting pressure on JU!!
DeleteThat's smart thing to do. Why be loyal feeder to KL and AF. We have our own network to develop
DeleteVienna a true winner here. Still mind blown they fly 3 times a day to Moscow. Ex Yu routes are stagnant. Hope they have success in China and increase to 3 weekly
ReplyDeleteWhat's with that bloody night flight to Sarajevo?
DeleteI am pretty sure that Air Serbia would launch it if it's possible. Maybe SJJ does not want to remain open during night?
DeleteThey literally have night flights this summer
DeleteBravo Air Serbia 🇷🇸🇷🇸🇷🇸
ReplyDeleteThe network size is simply astonishing and on top of that they also have a modest growth across network. I'm curious to which routes will get extra frequencies once the second dry leased E-jet arrives.
ReplyDeleteCould JU reach 4.6 million pax this year? What do you guys think?
ReplyDeleteEven more I'd say, somewhere between 4.7-4.8 mil
DeleteThey already said they plan to have over 4.7 million this year
Deletehttps://www.exyuaviation.com/2025/02/air-serbia-targets-over-47-million.html
How they managed to get additional slot in LONDON??? Awesome!
ReplyDeleteWhat are you talking about? They always had 9 weekly in summer.
DeleteExtra flight in October? Thats the one I am talking about
DeleteThey always had slots for 9 flights in October. It's just that they didn't use it for some reason last year
DeleteReally? And Heatrow did not take it from them?
DeleteNo. It does not work like that. If you have historical slots, like JU does, you don't loose them just because you don't utilize every single slot for 3 weeks.
DeleteI wonder what happened with JU's failed request for additional weekly frequency to LHR, will they ever request it again?
DeleteThey probably won't. Best they can do is send A320 more often to London. Or maybe launch flights to Gatwick.
DeleteVery organic and natural growth. Respect. Add Manchester, Yerevan, Iasi, Suceava, Cisinau and Dublin and increase frequencies on long haul and we have super respectful airline
ReplyDeleteMan, if ten years ago somebody told me this would be JU schedule I would say they are crazy
For Manchester and increased frequencies to London the visa situation needs to first be addressed.
DeleteNo, it doesn’t. London, JFK, ORD runs perfectly despite visa regime. Just some courage to start routes
DeleteWhy it is not? Who should initiate the discussion? What is blocking the other decision? I'm really asking for some insight in this topic if anyone knows anything particular. What are the UK criteria to abolish the visa?
DeleteFor Balkans one of the criteria might be accession to EU
Delete@Anon 12:16
DeleteLondon is a major tourist destination which has a significant diaspora. Even with visa regime there is demand. Without visa regime there would be even more demand.
JFK and ORD are different, visa regime for USA is easier and you get visa for 10 years. In the UK most people get visa for only 6 months.
^ I disagree. Manchester and Dublin are already in top 10 unserved routes from BEG. Higher on a list than Tbilisi. Those routes may surely work at least with E90's, if not A319 for a start. As I wrote, just some courage and probably few more available crews are needed for those routes to run.
DeleteIt is a political decision by the UK side not to relax visa criteria for Serbian passport holders.
DeleteIt is a lot easier to get a UK visa for most other non EU member countries in Europe.
Visa policy is always political decision. UK has the same visa regime for Serbia, N. Macedonia, Montenegro, BiH...
DeleteMontenegrins and Bosnians don't need Dierect Airside Transit visa, at least
Delete"In addition to scheduled services, Air Serbia will also maintain regular charters to a number of destinations. They include Antalya, Bodrum, Cephalonia, Dalaman, El Dabaa, Hurghada, Kavala, Marsa Matrouh, Monastir, Preveza and Zakynthos."
ReplyDelete@Admin, you missed charters to Skiathos and Sharm el Sheikh
Lefkada also
DeleteLefkada is Preveza
DeleteThey will open Munich soon ;) and Frankfurt is going to be 14pw. Hopefully they are going to increase New York and Shanghai after ading some new feeding routes!
ReplyDeleteOpening Munich would only have chance with at least daily flights with E190.
DeleteShanghai going to 3 weekly is something Air Serbia talked about some time ago and is the best choice if given approval from China.
DeleteI don't think Guangzhou will go to 3 weekly just yet, and starting Beijing is not a wise choice.
New York is already increased in May, Sep and Oct.
Exactly, it would make most sense to increase PVG to 3 weekly flights.
DeleteGuangzhou already has decent frequencies, 4 weekly year-round by 2 airlines.
Launching Beijing while Hainan is in the market for nearly 3 years would be hard. Not a smart decision for the time being.
New York has decent frequencies this summer, however they can increase it to more than daily in the peak summer season. Let's see how much frequencies will New York have during winter season.
Dont understand 13 weekly to Budapest and only 4 to Nis, 7 Sarajevo, 3/4 Banja Luka. Is there really big demand for Budapest, as all people that I know even for work prefer to go by car to Budapest. But over all I like what I see.
ReplyDeleteYes, Budapest is one of the most visited cities in Europe visited by over 6 million international tourists in 2024. Putting it in the same category as Nis and Banja Luka is laughable.
DeleteBudapest is a transfer destination.
DeletePlease cut the crap about there being anything "major" about Budapest. JU flies to Bucharest with the same kind of frequencies. Same as to Skopje and many other cities.
DeleteTrue, but Bucarest is 12 hours by car and Budapest is 4. So they are not "the same" for airlines like JU.
DeleteDifference is that BUD is perfect mix if O&D and transfers while OTP is mostly transfers
"Major" thing about BUD is their long haul network that is very very impressive in comparison to OTP
DeleteThey long-haul "network" is only to China.
DeleteDon't forget that the border crossing between HU and RS can take hours and hours. It's better to fly.
DeleteIn practice, Niš is not 4 flights, but two, because 2 are on the same day, and one of them is unusable because it is simply a positioning flight for which they sale tickets.
Delete^ Absolute nonsense. Sometimes you really have to wonder who comments here. So Paris isn't really 14 weekly because 2 flights operate on the same day so it's actually just one flight per day. Did you read the rubbish you wrote before you posted it?
Delete@18:35 😂😂😂 Mega nonsense!
Delete@ anon 18:22
DeleteUsually it takes 1h at Horgos 1 as the bigest. Except in 3-4 summer months when all goes to hell. But there are other crossings like Horgos 2, Kelebija, Backi Vinogradi..
I usually use Horgos 2 border crossing, and it always takes up to an hour to cross.
DeleteLong haul frequency is horrible, considering amount of aircraft they have..Where are now those comentators who were saying, even just few weeks ago- just wait to see new routes and additional frequencies to old ones?? I don't see any..In peak season, in june, july and august and up to 20. september they will have 14 flights ( frequency to JFK and Chicago the same like last year when they had 2 aircraft), in may and october ( unless they cut more later ) they'll have 11 flights, and in april total of 8..On 4 wide body aircraft, that average utilization should be 22-24 flights!..So this looks like they acquired 2 planes for only 4 flights..Come on!!! I keep saying this , and some guys keep negating obvious fact- that this is very very bad utilization of very expensive toys..
ReplyDeleteHere you go again. First read the text. Second, last week you were saying how they are lying they would announce a new route this week. Then they announced Tbilisi. And then you were no where to be seen. Actually you were. You were complaining about something there too.
DeleteI didn't say they were lying, but that I was fed up with their announcements, because the story usually starts like 6-8 months in advance, and often doesn't even happen..I this case of Tbilisi, yes it did happen..
DeleteBut what happened with long haul routes, that's the topic here?
They need to introduce 2 new long haul routes, that's the point, in order to get all those planes up in the sky...plus additional frequencies to existing routes , anywhere where is possible, that's even out of disscussion..
Delete"As EX-YU Aviation News learns, the airline is expected to make a decision on a potential increase in its peak summer long-haul operations next month."
DeleteOf course they will not, until Pupin goes cabin retrofit. Maybe even on Tesla before new long hauls
DeleteYou think they suddenly got worried about passengers wellbeing?
DeleteYes, I do. Pupin will be backup, until fixed properly. New planes introduce much higher comfort
DeleteThat picture is from Milos taverna!
ReplyDeleteMaybe they can launch Nis-Ohrid for next summer , would be good addition for that part of Srbija :D
Sarajevo remains the weak spot in the network. Significant unmet demand for Euro destinations out of Sarajevo was an opportunity for Air Serbia to grow frequencies but they failed to fill that void. Growing to double daily on certain days during peak months, sending more Embraers and agressive marketing and pricing for transfer destinations could have helped.
ReplyDeleteI can still imagine increasing SJJ to 10 weekly this summer.
DeleteTotal of 96 destinations for Air Serbia, 83 regular schedule and 13 charter destinations.
ReplyDelete🙌🏻
DeleteSo in 2027 we will for sure have more than 100 destinations! Huge!
DeleteThe goal is to have 100 scheduled destinations, excluding charters.
Delete
