Last year, on October 11, I flew with Air Serbia from Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport to Malta International Airport.
Our flight was at 11:55 so we came to the airport 2 hours earlier so that we have enough time to check in, go through security and passport control.
Check in was quick and easy. We waited for about 20 minutes. Security and passport control took about 5 minutes which is great because sometimes the lines are so long that you need to come 4 hours earlier to the airport.
We came to gate A3 about 20 minutes earlier before boarding the plane. The plane arrived from Hanover in Germany and the boarding started about 50 minutes before the departure time.
We were 5 minutes late but that is normal. When we boarded our A319, registered YU-APK, the friendly crew was waiting at the front door and welcomed passengers onboard. We were seated in 3A, B and C.
When we reached our cruising altitude of 36 000 ft, the crew started handing out free snacks which consisted of a branded bottle of water and a pack of Serbian biscuits plazma. These are included in the price of the ticket. If you wanted a sandwich, coffee, tea and other things you could buy them on board. I chose a combo option, where you get a croissant and tea for about 250 Serbian dinars or 2,13 euros.
The flight time was about 1 hour and 50 minutes, covering some 1 111 kilometres. The cabin and toilets were clean, and the seats were very comfortable compared to Wizz Air which I have flown to Malta in the past.
When we landed, we parked on stand 2, just behind an Emirates Boeing 777 that arrived from Larnaca.
While we were inflight, I asked the cabin crew if it would be possible to visit the cockpit after landing. They agreed, so after landing I was able to check out the cockpit.
I had a chat with the pilots, and they were super friendly. They even gave me their hat to take a picture with. Overall, the flight was great, and I will choose Air Serbia for future flights.

Nice report. Bravo JU 🇷🇸
ReplyDeleteThank you Marko, good report. Cabin looks pretty full. Do you know the LF?
ReplyDeleteThank you, there where 2 in business class and 120 in economy class so LF was about 85% the return trip was roughly the same LF which is great for mid October
DeleteAir Serbia's success makes me happy. They seem to be doing well in Malta so let's hope they add more flights in the future.
ReplyDeleteThey have more convenient schedule than W6 by my opinion. Especially the outbound flight which give you a lot of afternoon to visit Valletta.
DeletePoor eco service
ReplyDeleteCroissant and tea for 2,13€ is quite affordable. Thank you for the very nice report.
DeleteHow do you mean poor? It's an industry standard in economy.
Delete@Mario
Can't remember but I think it's more than 2,13€ unless it's a promo deal.
That's pretty good. I remember I paid 5 euro for a coffee from Frankfurt to Sarajevo on LH. Mimoso and Cia were a couple of bucks on a budget airline in India, so price is actually pretty affordable compared to others.
DeleteI flew their J class BEG-JFK on ARB this week and was left quite disappointed (saying this as a fan and Gold Member). I happily used to fly this route 9-10 times per year since YU-ARA, but haven't taken JU since May 2024. The seats are really worn in (thankfully it's been "planned" for retrofitting for a while), the charging ports were not working, a good portion of the interior is taped together, the bed mode didn't work on some seats, but the most unacceptable part was the food. I know their J is cheaper than most other alternatives on the route, but the breakfast menu is pathetic. I know for dinner they put out the nice candles and even offer steak, but breakfast has two options now: (1) 2 hard-boiled eggs in some tomato sauce and cheese, and (2) beef rolls. I ordered the beef rolls - I know they run out of food sometimes, but the cabin was half-empty, and as I was the first to order, she assured me they have it (they start taking orders from the back of the cabin). Then, after about 2 hours into the flight, as I watched them serve the entire cabin from the front, I was told that the beef rolls that were intended for me have gone bad (perhaps bad catering?), so was it ok if I get the egg breakfast. I despise hard-boiled eggs, so asked if there was something else, to which she responded with "no", then proceeded to bring me the eggs. Needless to say, I stayed hungry on that flight, as there were no snacks, and we basically didn't see the crew until the 2nd service. The 2nd service was sligthly better, but really below standard - a really dry Vienna steak. Two boiled eggs for a 10hr intercontinental business class just sounds silly to me. I heard that they don't have a Head of Customer Experience anymore due to some nonsensical internal politics - does anyone know what's going on? Because after this - sadly - I don't think I'll be paying for their J class anytime soon... :(
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a super poor service for a lot of money. Not worth paying extra!
DeleteAnd what exactly your comment about ARB's state has to do with this flight report? It more sounds like a preview of your own trip report that you were lazy to write. Please write it instead of trolling reports of others. Thank you.
