World Airport Awards 2025 - Best airports in Eastern Europe
The World Airport Awards began in 1999, when Skytrax launched its first global airport customer satisfaction survey. They are regarded as a quality benchmark for the world airport industry, assessing customer service and facilities. The evaluation took place between August 2024 to February 2025. Categories include the world’s best airport, most improved airport, airport with the best staff, best security, and best transit airport, to name a few. According to Skytrax, the survey and awards process is independent and guaranteed free of any airport influence or interference in the final results. There is no entry fee or any type of payment by an airport (or other third party) to be included in the survey or awards, with the survey and awards process fully funded by Skytrax. It evaluates customer satisfaction across forty key performance indicators for airport service and product - from check-in, arrivals, transfers, shopping, security, and immigration, through to departure at the gate. The World Airline Awards, also organised by Skytrax, will be held later this year.
World Airport Awards 2025 - World's best airports
FCO in deed is good, epsecially cause of their security checks. You pass security in FCO within no time.
ReplyDeleteExactly, I experienced that couple weeks ago especially in the Schengen zone, when I travelled back to Thessaloniki, the security check was 2 minutes
DeleteIs it possible that FCO security checks are not serious?
DeleteJust massive in size, that's it
DeletePassport lines entering FCO have always been a nightmare for me
DeleteFCO has latest technology of x ray machines. No need to take out liquids or lap tops fm yr bags. I personally like also the Hangar Lounge of ITA. They have staff at toilets which clean nonstop, similar to the QR lounges in DOH.
DeleteSofia is literally one of the worst airports i have ever used.
ReplyDeleteThey stil use T1 for lowcost flights?
DeleteI fly through Sofia regularly and can confirm that it is one of the worst. Very strange rankings... but Skytrax is an industry joke....
DeleteWelcome back in the Top 10, SKP
ReplyDeleteNice achievement.
DeleteSofia at #2 immediately delegitimizes this entire ranking. The airport consists of T1 which is a decrepit ancient terminal now converted to low-cost use, and T2 which is new, but has all the comforts and visual charm of a metro station - I genuinely can't think of a more characterless legacy terminal in Europe.
ReplyDeleteSpot on!
DeleteZRH def not Nr. 10. No airconditions or proper cooling system available throughout the airport. All year too warm and from May until end Sep too humide. People are complaining nonstop, even airport staff.
ReplyDeleteIt's still very efficient and fast to move around, which props up the rating.
DeleteThat's true. Also the large Migros is a big advantage, however missing air condition and proper cooling systems is a big minus
DeleteSkytrax awards are a joke. The airline or airport operator that pays the most gets an award.

DeleteWhere is Warsaw?
ReplyDeletecentral europe but not in the top 10
DeleteIn Poland.
DeleteIn Poland.
DeleteWhich airports belong to "eastern european"? , and what was the criteria? 'cause Macedonia and Serbia, Bulgaria don't belong to East, but South East Europe, where is Athens then?
ReplyDeleteFormer Eastern block countries are all considered as east European by most people in Europe.
DeleteGreece, Italy, Malta, Cyprus, Austria, Finland and Scandinavia are considered western European despite being geographically on the eastern part of the continent.
which makes zero sense anon 14:31
DeleteI agree but most other Europeans see it differently. What they consider to be "East" is not so much a geographical concept but a historical one.
DeleteCDG and FCO in the top 10 best globally?? srsly?? They are not even top 10 in Europe, if anything they belong in the top 10 worst airports. What's also missing for the worst major European capital airports is Madrid and you have a complete list.
ReplyDeleteNobody takes Skytrax seriously.
DeleteBelgrade is simply the best. More than 6 yrs under concession, 3 yrs since C extension was opened and 2 yrs Processor building opened. In those 3 yrs only Bistro F&B opened in new C7-C14 extension. In Tesla Sq from F&B outlets In&Out opened where Kapital used to be. No updates on Ambar, Burrito Madre, Monument in T1. No F&B opened in renovated A5-A10 concourse but Plum Bar construction site is closed. Oh BEG you're the best, better than all the rest!!!
ReplyDeleteAccording to people voting it is. You will just have to deal with it.
DeletePassengers departing or transferring through airside at BEG in the past couple of years just have to deal with the fact it takes less time to build similar-sized Terminal from the scratch than to open 5-6 food and beverage outlets.
DeleteYet they are selected in yop 10 on Eastern Europe
DeleteDoes the fact BEG is voted Top 10 mean responsible for record-breaking delays in opening those outless can now relax and take an even slower approach?
DeleteJust look at the new main entrance at Processor building departure level. It has been plastered with "Work in progress" signs and covers for 3 years. Astonishing incompetence but who cares, let's celebrate Top 10 rating!!!
And yet they are in top 10. If you want to go shopping, go to a shopping mall.
DeleteWrong argument. If Belgrade Airport/Operator didn't want passengers to do shopping and food&beverage, they shouldn't have designed/created so many empty spaces for them.
DeleteBravo!
ReplyDeleteI have been to all above mentioned airports, except Batumi. In my opinion Sofia, Belgrade and Paris do not belong to this list.

DeleteThis ranking is a joke.
ReplyDeleteskp airport maybe as an "airport" alone overall is on that top10, but as an staff never could be, the lowest people in existence work as staff at this so-called airport, at check-in, at bag control, at passport control, in short, trash and racist so called airport staff
ReplyDeleteWho are they racist to? I have used it 6 times in total and I didn't felt discriminated at all.
DeleteAbsolutely disagree. The voice in your message speaks more about you then the airport and cannot be taken seriously anyway. Victim blaming
DeleteMmmm Zagreb airport is much nicer than some of those that are stated. Also Tbilisi? Georgia is in Eastern Europe
