Croatian airports are preparing for the upcoming peak travel season with the country to see an increase in the number of nonstop flights and airlines. A total of 485 routes to 122 cities in 42 countries operated by 52 airlines will be on offer to travellers. As a result, capacity levels during the 2025 summer season are expected to increase by 7.7% on the same period last year. The Croatian National Tourist Board has been focusing on improving traffic volumes during the pre- and post- peak travel season and has allocated three million euros for strategic partnerships, among which are airlines. “This year we have allocated over three million euros for strategic partnerships, including cooperation with airlines. In this context, we expect an increase in the number of planned operations, marking a record compared to last year's summer flight schedule, which will have a positive impact on the overall tourism results”, the head of the Croatian National Tourist Board, Kristjan Staničić, said.
Projected capacity at Croatian airports on scheduled flights, summer 2025
Commenting on the importance of improving air traffic volumes outside of the busy travel period, Mr Staničić noted, “Air traffic is extremely important for Croatian tourism, especially in terms of demand from long-haul source markets. Our goal is to improve air connectivity with foreign countries every year. This is especially important for our southern destinations, which are more reliant on air transport, and in the context of achieving the strategic goal of strengthening pre- and post-season leisure traffic”. He added, “Air connectivity is extremely important outside the peak season because of the better accessibility of our destinations. This means that we must actively encourage the launch of new routes, but also to ensure an earlier start, and focus strongly on programs that connect key source geo-zones with Croatia”.
Croatia is expected to have 14.340.865 seats on scheduled services for the duration of the summer season. The largest volume of flights this summer is expected from Germany, followed by the UK, Italy, France and Poland. During the peak summer period, Croatia will be mainly linked to European destinations, however, others include points in the United States, Canada, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar. Ryanair will cement its position as the country’s largest airline, ahead of Croatia Airlines, easyJet and Eurowings.

Well done. Great summer for almost all Croatian airports.
ReplyDeleteThis just shows how much potential Croatia has
ReplyDeleteYes, in summer
DeleteYes in summer because people go to beach destinations when it is summer. Shocking, right?
DeleteWell it is if you read today's article and see that HR is trying to extend the season. So far they don't seem to be very successful, no?
DeleteI'm sure Croats are upset that they will have record number of visitors again this year!
DeleteWhat a failure!
There's definitely way more potential in Croatia than just the coastline and Zagreb. It just needs additional PR - Plitvice notwithstanding.
Delete+1 last anon
DeleteThere is definitely greater potential for long haul in the summer. Hope the tourist board works on it
ReplyDeleteNo they don't. Same as Krovacija Erlajnz, they are all members of Kradeze criminal organization and they perform all tasks in interest of Deutsche Lufthansa Gmbh
DeleteDo not forget the Illuminati!
DeleteBravo Hrvatska!
ReplyDeleteHello friends, does anyone know why the drop in OSI? That airport just can't catch a break.
ReplyDeleteOU having 16% more capacity this summer is impressive.
ReplyDelete+1
DeleteBut still less flights than in 2019.
DeleteAs are a lot other airlines around Europe. But it is moving fast to the right direction.
Delete16 % more on misery they had (and still have with 16 % up) is not impressive, it's pathetic. Croatia Airlines should have had by now capacity of minimum 100 % more, fleet of minimum 30 aircraft, and minimum 50 % more destinations, including limited North America and Far East routes. I will not discuss reasons and intentions behind such "impressive" labeling but calling impressive anything in Croatia Airlines is simply wrong
DeleteConcerned commenters seem to be upsetting about any positive news regarding Croatia. Why is that I wonder...
Delete^ the person above your comment is Pozdrav iz Rijeke from Croatia.
Deletethe numbers for brac are incorrect, they have more than 25000 seats on offer...
ReplyDeletezagreb,graz,linz,luxemburg,kosice,bratislava,sant
The figures are for scheduled flights only, as indicated in the article on several occasions.
DeleteMore needs to be done to attract traffic outside of Europe. If Montenegro can have Air Astana flights, flights from Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and more, then Croatia should at least attempt to get them
ReplyDeleteGood point.
DeleteVisas might be an issue
DeleteI agree, it would be great if they worked more on flights from far away destinations. I think the previous government did this rather well. I know tourism minister was personally involved in bringing Emirates to Zagreb.
DeleteAny idea how many passengers all Croatian airport could handle this year?
ReplyDeleteLess than Adnan Menderes Airport.
DeleteOnce upon a time easyjet used to be the biggest during the summer.
ReplyDeleteWhy do they have such a decline this year?
DeleteThey discontinued flights from Rijeka.
DeleteThey also discontinued some from Dubrovnik. There was an article here a few months ago about easyjet's summer operations in Croatia.
DeleteNice boost for LH even though they transferred some routes to Discover Airlines.
ReplyDeleteZagreb almost reaching SPU capacity. Wow
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful shot of Split Airport
ReplyDeleteThey need to reconstruct that vintage control tower.
Delete+1 new terminal looks beautiful
DeleteThe Ryanair cuts have slowed down Zadar's growth. Hopefully they manage to reach an agreement for next year.
ReplyDeleteWell, might have reach a peak.
DeleteVery interesting and commendable numbers. Thanks for publishing.
ReplyDeleteI have to admit I love how this website calls itself a mere "aviation blog" and then publishes fantastic analyses like this, and then you have other regional websites calling themselves "aviation analysts" and posting articles like "Sarajevo povećava autobusnu liniju za Baščaršiju".
ReplyDeleteThank you Admin!

DeleteWhat percentage of seat capacity for S25 will Croatian coastal airports have available from Croatia Airlines? Is it below 10%?
ReplyDeleteThe problem is most of the coast is closed during the shoulder seasons. So it can't be just about paying airlines to fly there. You need a wider strategy to keep the coast alive outside of summer.
ReplyDeleteGreat job Croatia
ReplyDeleteFR should think about maintaining a few routes from Zadar in winter.
ReplyDeleteIf plans to have a large number of flights in April fail, why would they do it in winter?
DeleteThey keep talking about it, but never do smthng concrete.
DeleteNice.
ReplyDeleteThose stone mines in the background look horrible. Such a scar in the riviera and the nature. Any plans to reforest them?
