NEWS FLASH
Flydubai, which was due to resume operations to Skopje this summer following a five-year hiatus, has postponed its return until further notice. The carrier has been awarded subsidies by the Macedonian government for the introduction of flights between Dubai and Skopje, which were due to be restored from the start of the summer season, although they were never scheduled. The airline cited “objective reasons” beyond its control for the delay. The carrier previously said its expansion plans have been stunted by extensive delays in Boeing’s aircraft delivery schedules.
How annoying why apply for it when you can't deliver. It's getting fustrating skopje need more routes connect the airport I understand it's a small country but the connectivity sucks 🥲
ReplyDeleteSKP management isn't particularly bothered by this development.
ReplyDeleteThey prefer to channel all traffic to the south and east of the country via IST and SAW.

DeleteWhat is wrong with that?
DeleteFur Turkish carriers nothing. For IST and SAW nothing.
DeleteBut for the country and its connectivity it is very wrong to just be a feeder of Turkish aviation interests instead of gaining direct connectivity to important markets.
@11.48 lol
Delete@12:35 Thanks for admitting the truth of what I said!
DeleteLH group has more passengers then Turkish from SKP ...
DeleteHow many do Alpha jet, Freebird, SunExpress and Pegasus have? And how much do you think it would be their market share next year?
DeleteI really don't understand this kind of comments. What do you think that the airport has in this decision? How do you know that airport is not bothered with this? I am sure that there is no any management that will not be bothered than this. This is solely airline decision and airports usually has nothing to do with that. Airprots are not deciding that, airlines do.
DeleteIs this an issue with the delivery of their new boeings 737Max?
ReplyDeleteProbably not cause they have no trouble launching other new routes and expanding capacity to existing destinations.
DeletePoor sales, a good old issue in Balkans. I don't understand how they cannot sustain a route with two or three weekly rotations, especially with potential transfer pax from Australia.
Deletewhat sales are you talking about?
DeleteSummer is peak season. Lets wait and see what they announce once summer is over. IF it is a marginal route then you’d better put you eggs in a more lucrative market. Patience…
ReplyDeleteThe government in North Macedonia should work in removing visas to UAE and than the number of passengers to UAE will increase, and by the that the demand to UAE will increase, which will obviously impact in increase in flights from Skopje to Dubai.
