NEWS FLASH
Pegasus Airlines will increase frequencies between Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport and Zagreb from June. The carrier will add an additional weekly service between the two cities for a total of four weekly flights. The extra weekly frequency will be added from June 2, with services operating on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Pegasus Airlines, which launched flights to the Croatian capital in January 2024, handled 38.535 passengers between Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen and Zagreb last year.
Any reason they aren't flying to Ljubljana? I'm sure there is demand?
ReplyDeleteBilateral agreements are a major issue for Pegasus on many European markets. The EU does not have a single bilateral with Turkey so each country has an individual one. The Slovenia-Turkey agreement has not been revised and most likely designates only Adria and Turkish as operating carriers on scheduled flights. It does not help that the Turkish state is not a big fan of Pegasus and tries to make their life very difficult.
DeleteMaybe AJet could fly the route then?
Delete@10:38 How dare you say this, for sure its Fraports fault..
DeleteBravo Hrvatska!
ReplyDeleteFrom where come demand? Turks need visas for EU, so most of the pax are Croatian tourist?
DeleteTurks with special green passports (university professors, doctors, scientists, politicians that don't have a diplomatic passport etc.) can visit the EU visa-free and millions of people have such passports. Many Turks also have EU citizenships.
DeleteOn top of that, many Turks are working in Croatia with work permits and there are quite a few of construction companies doing work here. A Turkish company won a 210m Euro tender in Zagreb just recently.
DeleteI think it's not just Croats and Turks. You can connect at this airport and fly to many destinations. I for example search for a flight at the end of August from Zagreb to Beirut and Pegasus is also an option. I will see when buying the ticket what the most suitable option for me is.
DeleteI think Pegasus is used most heavily by migrant workers in Croatia.
