NEWS FLASH
Air Serbia resumed operations to Florence this morning following a one-year hiatus. The carrier previously briefly operated to the Italian city during the summer of 2023. Back then, the majority of the flights were maintained by a wet-leased 100-seat Embraer E190 aircraft. This time around, the carrier will serve the city twice per week with its 72-seat ATR72-600 aircraft. The inaugural flight saw 71 passengers onboard. The airline will further expand its network in Italy this summer with the addition of Alghero in June. As a result, Air Serbia will serve a record ten destinations in Italy this summer season.
Bravo Air Serbia 🇷🇸🇷🇸🇷🇸
ReplyDelete10 destinations in Italy are indeed fantastic. Bravo Air Serbia!
ReplyDeleteLet's hope that TRS will return one day to the network again
Yes, Trieste is perfect AT72 destination. They may lower Venice to 3 pw and add TRS 2 pw.
DeleteAlso, Genoa seems like a good new route in Italy
If they reduce VCE to just three weekly then they might as well shut it down. Venice is a global tourist destination, even their current number of flights is rather embarassing. I mean they barely grew over the years and they've been flying there for a decade... if not more.
DeleteYes, but in Trieste is huge Serbian diaspora. And many Serbs own properties there. They should have a connection to homeland as well
DeleteYes and JU gave them a chance to fly with them and they chose the highway.
Delete@14:23
DeleteTo put it lightly, what a stupid suggestion.
@nemjee
VCE was launched 01.06.2017 with 4 pw flights.
@16:11
TRS has been on and off for over 2 decades. It simply isn't working for JU. Surrounding TRS catchment area is up to 3 daily LJU, 4 pw VCE and 5 pw PUY.
@16:53
DeleteWhat a stupid answer, to put it directly.
BLQ and FLR are even closer, but we see that it works.
Well, obviously FLR can work. Also, next to Florence there is only Bologna while Trieste has more airports that are stealing its passengers. Also, compare passenger numbers of the two airports, Florence obviously has more potential.
DeleteI know it doesn't mean much but I know 5-6 people who have apartments in Trieste. Even when there were flights they went by car. As mentioned above, the highway is a bigger problem than PUY, LJU or VCE.
We will see what’s happening in the future. Since break even for AT72 is 50%, TRS may work surely 2pw. Better then keep birds idle at BEG. I think biggest problem is lack of crews
Delete@16:52
DeleteAnother nonsense. LJU is even closer, but some people choose JU over car. Time changes, economy is growing, habits changing, you can not compare year 2005 and 2025
For Trieste, we are not talking about the period 2005, but about two years ago.
DeleteDecent load factor too!
ReplyDelete71 out of 72 is pretty incredible
DeleteSeems that they will have to bring back E190 very soon
DeleteAnd 66 on the way back.
DeleteAnon 14.24 or maybe add more flights if they can. Like that they can improve their overall connectivity via BEG.
DeleteWhat is especially impressive is the load to BEG. It means they have decent sales in both directions (point of sale).
In Italy, most of our students study in Florence. Plus a few gastos and the occasional transfer. Enough for a full flight to BEG.
DeleteYet roughly 60% of passengers today were transfers from FLR. At least on this flight there was more than an occassional transfer.
DeleteDo you know where the transfers were for? I assume most of them were for SVO and LED.
DeleteI work @ BEG and in on our paper it says 36 transfers going to Sarajevo, Podgorica, Bucharest , Athens, Vienna, Thessaloniki and Budapest.
DeleteThank you. It's no wonder they increased their OTP capacity and that they use Embraer on all days except Saturday. Of course I'm referring to the midday wave.
DeleteE190 might come to play soon!
DeleteOr increasing the frequency to 3 or even 4 times a week.
DeleteI don't think they have planes or crew for more flights. Hopefully next summer
DeleteATR's plus crew are sufficient. During this mornings wave, only 7 of 10 ATR's flew. 8 if you include BNX.
DeletePilots are the problem, they are fine as far as the rest go.
DeleteThere are more destinations in they can launch with ATR.
ReplyDeleteFor example:
1. Lamezia Terme
2. Genoa
3. Turin
4. Trieste
For Genoa and Turin, I think it's too far to fly with an ATR. For those two, a smaller Embraer might be more suitable.
DeleteGenoa is half an hour more, no big deal. Turin is more. Bit If it flies to Prague and Krakow, it can reach both
DeletePlus it also flies to NUE
DeleteIt would also be better if they slowly started using Embraers instead of ATRs for Krakow and Prague.
DeleteOmg Prague for sure, LJU too
DeleteBelgrade-Lamezia Terme. Really?
DeleteIt would be great to see with a couple more frequencies rather than the ERJ for PRG. Same with KRK.
DeleteYes, Lamezia Terme. Previous there were charters to that city. Now it should become a scheduled route.
DeleteLamezia terme seems like a good LCC route. If W6 wouldn’t mind…
Delete@anon 17:30
DeleteThey can combine flights with Embraer and ATR as to OTP.
16.40, do you know Transat flies Lamezia to Toronto?
DeleteIf they can sustain Toronto flights, I don't see why Belgrade would be impossible
Is it year round?
ReplyDeleteYes
DeleteIdemo dalje...
ReplyDeleteAjmo
DeletePerfect aircraft for that route.
ReplyDeleteGoal for next year should be increase in frequency.
One of Air Serbias biggest disadvantages are low frequencies on existing routes.
It's a shame they didn't increase the frequencies this year as they planned. There were morning flights to Bucharest, Athens. Night flights to Sarajevo, etc.
