NEWS FLASH
Icelandic low cost carrier PLAY has cancelled plans to launch a new seasonal service between Reykjavik and Pula. The flights were scheduled to commence on May 31 and run once per week, each Saturday, until August 16. Tickets sales have now been discontinued. PLAY will also suspend services to Hamburg, Dusseldorf and Madeira, as part of a strategic fleet and network adjustment through 2027. “We’re now implementing that plan … our summer schedule still includes plenty of sunny destinations”, PLAY spokesperson, Birgir Olgeirsson, said.
PLAY will continue to serve Split in Croatia, which it launched last summer. Frequencies on the seasonal route have been increased from one to two per week. The route will be maintained until October 16. “We are pleased with how our Split services have been received. The majority of our passengers on the Split route are Icelandic”, PLAY recently told EX-YU Aviation News.
