NEWS FLASH
Italian regional carrier Sky Alps, which is due to open a base in Mostar in mid-May, has said it expects its fleet of Dash 8 aircraft to remain grounded for several months as the Italian Civil Aviation Authority (ENAC) continues to perform extensive checks on the turboprops. The airline continues to maintain operations using wet-leased aircraft. According to the company’s management, the grounding has so far cost Sky Alps a million euros. ENAC issued a decision to ground the airline’s fleet in late February after deficiencies in the aircraft maintenance certifications were found with respect to flight safety requirements. Certifications provided by a particular maintenance technician were discovered “not to be compliant”. The individual has subsequently been prohibited from accessing airports where the carrier operates.
How does that effect Mostar?
ReplyDeleteAn airline that is supposed to open a base in Mostar in a month has its entire fleet grounded.
DeleteLiterally connect the dots lol
DeleteI'm not sure anon @13:49 read any of the article
DeleteI think it's a fair question. We don't know whether they'll just completely cancel the plans, base a wet-leased jet until the situation passes or even go into administration. As things stand zI think it's the second, but the other two options are very likely

Delete"Sky Alps has informed us of its decision to conduct preventive inspections of all aircraft in its fleet and stated that this will not affect the operations in Mostar planned for the middle of next month," said representatives from Mostar Airport.
Delete"In addition, the inspection of aircraft has generally not had a negative impact on the operations of this company, as there have been no flight cancellations.
DeleteCurrently, we are working with the company to prepare the organization of the base in Mostar, which requires certain preliminary tasks." - Mostar Airport
"As for Mostar, tickets are regularly on sale, as can be seen in their sales system. So far, the best sales have been for the route to Palermo, where flights have sold out up to 50% before the flights actually begin, which serves as a kind of confirmation to future passengers that everything is in order with the flights." - Mostar Airport
DeleteThat statement makes zero sense lol
DeleteBest route being only 50% sold is not good
DeleteYou can send a message to Mostar Airport explaining that their statement doesn’t make sense. Perhaps you can help them understand and see things more clearly.
