Bucharest Henri Coandă Airport anticipates offering flights to Zagreb in the coming period. Valentin Iordache, Bucharest Airport's Communications and PR Director, says the airport is looking to expand its network with Zagreb and several other European destinations, primarily in the United Kingdom. Late last year, the Romanian national carrier, TAROM, told EX-YU Aviation News it had no plans to launch flights to the Croatian capital for the time being. However, Croatia Airlines itself, which plans to expand its operations in 2016, said, "At first, Eastern European countries within the European Union are our priority. At a later stage we intend to fly east outside of EU boundaries”. The Croatian carrier planned to launch flights from Zagreb to Bucharest several years ago, however, the onset of its restructuring program, which will be completed by the end of this year, limited its opportunities for network growth.
Bravo Croatia!
ReplyDeleteFor what? Coming to a slow realisation that there is a whole new world of possibilities to the east of the Danube river. And, let me guess, they will blame their shortsightedness on restructuring.
DeleteAs long as they get positive financial annual statements every year, thorough selling and leasing of their own former assets, I guess it's all good.
Tarom used to operate flights between Bucharest and Zagreb, yet to my knowledge, they were not that successful.. neither was Adria on the LJU-OTP route
ReplyDeleteNisi u pravu!
DeleteThe average number of passengers for the OTP-ZAG route was around 20.. I don't see how I was wrong.. letovi nisu bili profitabilni
DeletePa čovječe letovi NIKAD bili uspostavljeni, halo??!!!
