Indonesia's Batik Air introduced its current livery in 2013. The airline's name is derived from the local name of a dyed-pattern cloth, which is emblazoned on the tail of its aircraft. The carrier's logo is featured on the fuselage of its jet, with canting, a pen-like tool used to apply liquid hot wax in the batik-making process, used to form the letter "B". Batik Air is the premium full-service subsiduary of low cost giant Lion Air, Indonesia's largest privately run company.
