Pan-African low cost carrier FastJet, which is part-owned by easyJet, launched in 2012. Its livery depicts the African Grey Parrot on the tailfin against a predominantly yellow backdrop. The African Grey is renowned for its intelligence and was therefore chosen as the carrier's symbol. The floating concentric circles are anchored by the steady eye of the parrot, while the graphic use of gray defines the beloved bird but also makes the connection to technology and machinery. The branding was created by London-based marketing agency SomeOne.
